On December 11th, in Quy Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai province, the Vietnam Science Meeting Association and the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) organized an international workshop on molecular diagnostics in microbiology and disease.

Nearly 100 scientists , young researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates from 14 countries around the world attended the workshop.

At the conference, scientists and researchers presented research results, exchanged experiences, and discussed new trends and practical challenges in the field of molecular diagnostics.

The workshop also provided an opportunity for delegates to promote international cooperation, maintain existing scientific networks, and open up new avenues of collaboration between research groups worldwide .

The conference included nearly 80 presentations in plenary sessions, parallel sessions, and poster sessions, focusing on areas currently leading research trends such as: on-site diagnosis; predictive markers, aimed at predicting an individual's response to treatment; and the development of new tools and platforms for rapid detection and diagnosis at the molecular level.

Ms. Vo Cao Thi Mong Hoai, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Gia Lai province, stated that the workshop is of paramount importance in the context of the rapidly developing molecular diagnostics field and its profound impact on medicine, agriculture, genetic technology, and disease control. This is a multidisciplinary scientific forum where scientists share research results, discuss new trends, identify challenges, and propose innovative solutions to promote the development of molecular diagnostics globally.

The presence of professors and scientists from leading universities and research institutes around the world once again affirms the academic stature of the conference, demonstrating recognition of Vietnam's efforts and growing role in connecting with the international scientific community.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology expressed confidence that the workshop would further expand the international cooperation network, promote new research directions in molecular diagnostics, and create more practical application opportunities to serve life, healthcare, agriculture, and sustainable development.

The workshop serves as an important bridge to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation, promote knowledge exchange, and encourage the development of the young research community. It also clearly demonstrates the commitment of the Meet Vietnam program to creating an environment where international and Vietnamese science can develop sustainably together.

At the conference, scientists and researchers presented various diagnostic applications in microbiology and pathology, providing attendees with insightful perspectives on a rapidly expanding field that has the potential to shape the future of precision medicine.

In particular, scientists also reported and presented research demonstrating the diversity of applications of molecular diagnostics, ranging from the detection of human diseases and infectious diseases, microbiological analysis to plant disease management.

Many important and highly applicable reports were presented at the workshop, such as: Host metabolic markers in the diagnosis of infectious diseases; Understanding host susceptibility to tuberculosis; FnCas9 enzyme-linked homologous assay: advances in molecular diagnosis, characterization, and new management strategies for graft-borne pathogens in citrus; Genetics and genomes of fungi parasitic on plant pathogens: New approaches to exploring their full biological control potential.../.
