" I only learned about the summary and prize money awarding through the press; I didn't receive any invitation ," said a player from Binh Thuan Club. Previously, a report from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee stated that the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center would pay prize money to the players and coaches of the team at the season-ending ceremony on October 18th.

" At the celebration after the 2023 First Division season ended, the team's leadership announced that we had over 10 million VND in prize money in our account, but now, reading the newspapers, I see they're saying we have over 90 million VND ," the Binh Thuan player shared.

Regarding meal allowances, the players of Binh Thuan Club receive a regular training allowance of 240,000 VND/person/day and a tournament allowance of 320,000 VND/person/day as stipulated by the State. These funds are disbursed into the personal accounts of each coach and player.

The Binh Thuan Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center stated that it had repeatedly explained the payment to the team members. The Binh Thuan players confirmed receiving the aforementioned payments. However, they were dissatisfied with the specific allocation of the money, whether it was 320,000 VND or 240,000 VND. The group of 18 players who filed the complaint argued that a fixed rate of 320,000 VND per person per day should be applied throughout the 2023 season.

A player from Binh Thuan said: " We receive the money directly into our accounts and then pay the kitchen staff for meals ourselves. However, we are not satisfied with the meal allowance. Ideally, during the season, the meal allowance for all days should be 320,000 VND. However, during the tournament, we only receive that amount for 2-3 days before each match. After the match, the amount reverts to 240,000 VND. The players have voiced their concerns and fought against this issue. The team transfers the full amount within a short time, but the situation repeats itself ."

After receiving information that 18 players alleged their bonuses and meal allowances were being cut, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province investigated and reported to the Provincial People's Committee. According to the allegations, Mr. Le Ba Hung, director of the Binh Thuan Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, did not pay the team their season bonuses. In addition, meal allowances during the season were repeatedly cut, sometimes at the discretion of the team, sometimes at the whim of the team.
