Following the merger of administrative units, Ba Ngòi ward includes a mountainous area with a large population of the Raglai ethnic minority. Due to the hilly terrain, the people mainly engage in farming and hired labor, resulting in significant economic difficulties, with a high concentration of poor and near-poor households in this area. Furthermore, the area frequently suffers from natural disasters and flooding due to its mountainous terrain extending down to the border of Cam Ranh Bay.

The program "Health check-up and nutrition awareness enhancement for disadvantaged ethnic minority children," organized by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights in collaboration with relevant units, aims to contribute to raising awareness of health care and nutrition for ethnic minority children in Ba Ngòi.

As part of the program, 300 underprivileged children in Ba Ngòi ward received general health check-ups, nutritional assessments, and in-depth consultations from doctors and pharmacists at Cam Ranh Regional General Hospital. Those with health problems were provided with free medication as prescribed by the doctors.

At the event, nearly 300 health-related gifts sponsored by Pharmacity and MHD Pharma were presented to children, aiming to build a sustainable health foundation for local children and contribute to their physical and mental well-being, in line with the strategy for universal health care outlined in Resolution 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo .
