This decision was made to strengthen the personnel of higher education institutions for development in the new phase, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development. At the same time, it ensures the stability, continuity, and development of training institutions as stipulated in the amended Higher Education Law of 2025, which includes many important changes to the governance model of public universities.
Professor Le Anh Tuan was born in 1975 in Ha Tinh province. He is a former student of the 37th cohort of the Automotive Engineering program at Hanoi University of Technology. After graduating with honors, he was retained as a lecturer at the School of Mechanical Engineering from 1997. He completed his doctoral research program at the University of Technology Graz, Austria, from 2002 to 2005.
Professor Le Anh Tuan was appointed Associate Professor in 2009 and Professor in 2017. With his high level of political expertise, he has held many important leadership positions at the university. His previous positions include Head of Department, Director of the Centralized Investment Laboratory, and Director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
The period from 2016 to 2025 acknowledges his contributions to university governance in the following roles: Secretary of the University Council, Vice President, and President of the University Council.
Currently, he holds the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The new Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology is an influential scientist in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Automotive and Autonomous Vehicles, Renewable Energy, and Alternative Fuels. His scientific achievements include being the chief editor and co-author of 7 books, holding 2 intellectual property rights, and publishing over 150 articles in prestigious journals. His H-Index is 32 on Google Scholar and 29 on Scopus.
The appointment of Professor Le Anh Tuan as Director is expected to further strengthen the development of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, affirming its position as a leading higher education institution in science and technology in the context of autonomy and international integration.
Besides his work at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Professor Le Anh Tuan also holds many important social and professional responsibilities:
* Member of the Working Group assisting the Prime Minister on science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06;
* Member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City;
* Vice President of the Interdisciplinary Council of Professors in Mechanical Engineering - Automotive Engineering;
* Member of the Global Electric Vehicle Network (GEAN).
