During the past term, the Party Committee and the People of Khanh Hoa have thoroughly grasped, concretized, and systematically implemented the Party's resolutions and directives, the State's policies and laws, firmly overcome difficulties and challenges, comprehensively led the implementation of all aspects of work, and achieved many important results. Notably, the economy maintained a growth rate of 8.3% per year, among the highest in the country. The scale of the economy has been constantly expanded, estimated to reach more than 209.2 trillion VND by 2025. The economic structure has shifted positively, towards increasing the proportion of industry, construction and services (accounting for 78.87%), gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture - forestry - fishery (to 13.78%).

In particular, the industrial sector has made strong developments, affirming its role as a pillar of the economy. In particular, the processing and manufacturing industry and the renewable energy sector have risen, making Khanh Hoa a pioneer in the country in exploiting wind and solar energy. Currently, the whole province has 72 power projects, including solar power, wind power, hydropower and thermal power, which have been put into operation with a total capacity of 5,503.5 MW, an output of about 17.95 billion kWh/year, both meeting the needs of the province and making an important contribution to national energy security. Along with that, the province is actively implementing the Project to establish an Inter-regional Renewable Energy Industry - Service Center in the southern region, and at the same time promoting the nuclear power plant project according to the Central's policy.

In addition to the energy industry, the infrastructure of economic zones and industrial parks and clusters in the province continues to be invested and upgraded, creating favorable conditions to attract many strategic investors. The quality of key industrial products such as: Aquaculture, shipbuilding, bird's nest, textiles, etc. is increasingly improved, increasing competitiveness in the domestic and international markets. Many large-scale industrial projects have been and are being accelerated, contributing significantly to the economic growth of the province.

Clearly identifying the aspiration of "double-digit economic growth, improving people's lives, becoming a high growth pole of the country", Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee has chosen industry and energy as 2 of the 4 pillars of socio-economic development in the period 2025 - 2030. This is both a key task and a strategic orientation for Khanh Hoa to rise to a new position.

Many solutions to promote growth

Khanh Hoa’s goal is to maintain an average industrial growth of 15-20% per year, and to develop the province into a national energy center. To achieve that goal, there needs to be synchronous, innovative and feasible solutions.

To achieve the above goal, the Department of Industry and Trade has proposed a number of key solutions. First of all, complete the provincial development planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, in line with the new development space after the merger, associated with sustainable exploitation of marine potential and strengths of each region. Innovate strategic thinking in industrial development, planning and building key industrial zones and clusters in a multi-industry, modern direction, deeply participating in the global value chain. In particular, prioritize the development of high-tech application industries, such as: Information technology, digital technology , artificial intelligence, biotechnology, ocean technology, etc., towards the goal of making Khanh Hoa become an artificial intelligence center and data center.

Another important solution is to promote the advantages of Van Phong Economic Zone, form large-scale industrial - energy complexes associated with deep-water seaports; develop LNG and offshore wind power centers, build Van Phong into a leading logistics and energy transit center in the region. At the same time, the province aims to establish a southern coastal economic zone when conditions permit, attracting investment in new industrial zones such as Ninh Xuan, Ninh Diem 1, Ninh Diem 2, Ninh Diem 3, Ca Na, Nam Cam Ranh... associated with the development of connecting traffic infrastructure. Expanding regional connectivity, with the key economic triangle of the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands, will help Khanh Hoa attract high-quality investment capital flows from Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, Europe and the United States.

In the energy sector, Khanh Hoa aims to put 14,000 MW of electricity into operation by 2030, focusing on coastal and offshore wind power, solar power, LNG power, green hydrogen, pumped storage hydropower and nuclear power. The province also invests in upgrading power transmission infrastructure, building 500kV and 220kV stations, developing energy storage centers and integrating smart grid management technology. In particular, Khanh Hoa closely coordinates with central ministries and branches to accelerate the progress of the Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 Nuclear Power Plant Project, striving to put it into operation on schedule.

In addition, the province focuses on developing supporting industries and energy services, building specialized ports for offshore wind power equipment, and forming supporting zones to serve the production and assembly of energy equipment such as wind turbines, solar panels, and inverter systems. Accompanying services such as maintenance, green finance, and carbon certificates associated with the green energy economy are also encouraged to develop.

A key task is to effectively mobilize social resources; create an open, fair, competitive and integrated investment and business environment. Administrative reform and improvement of the provincial competitiveness index are also promoted to make Khanh Hoa an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors.

Along with that is the strategy of developing high-quality human resources. The province will cooperate closely with businesses, universities, and research institutes to train human resources in the fields of electricity, renewable energy, mechanics, automation, and information technology. Training programs for engineers and technicians serving the electricity and high-tech industries will be prioritized to meet the human resource needs of industrial zones. Policies to attract talents, invite international experts, and establish centers for training industrial and energy technical human resources are also important solutions to prepare for the new development step.

Promoting the marine potential, renewable energy strengths, along with innovative thinking and high political determination, Khanh Hoa is converging all the conditions to become the national energy center and the sustainable growth pole of the country.
