Tay Ninh: In the first 9 months of the year, the number of tourists reached more than 80% of the plan.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province has issued report No. 2117/BC-SVHTTDL on the preliminary summary of the implementation of the Strategy for developing Vietnam tourism products to 2025, with a vision to 2030.

The report said that after the merger of Tay Ninh and Long An provinces, many good opportunities have been opened up for restructuring the tourism industry in a sustainable, modern and large-scale direction to form new, diverse, rich and attractive tourism products on the basis of exploiting, developing and integrating the potentials and advantages of existing tourism resources of the two localities in the direction of complementing - linking - supporting each other.

Tourism performance results, in the first 9 months of 2025 of the new Tay Ninh province, visitors to tourist areas and attractions reached 6.18 million, up 9.7% over the same period, reaching 80.2% of the plan (the 2025 plan is 7.7 million visitors); total tourism revenue reached 4,140 billion VND, up 40.5% over the same period, reaching 84.5% of the plan (the 2025 plan is 4,900 billion VND).

In the context after the merger, Tay Ninh province is positioned with a new position, a dynamically developing locality; bordering Ho Chi Minh City from East to West and Dong Nai province, bordering Dong Thap province to the West, bordering the Kingdom of Cambodia to the North and South, with a natural area after the merger of 8,536.44 km2, with 96 commune-level administrative units, including 82 communes and 14 wards with a population of nearly 2.9 million people, with a land border with Cambodia of about 369 km long; 04 international border gates, 01 international seaport, the economic scale ranks 10th in the country.

The expansion of development space not only brings the province special advantages in terms of geo-economics, creating conditions to connect the Southeast region with the Mekong Delta and the Central Highlands in association with the trans-Asian economic corridor, but also positions Tay Ninh as one of the regional linkage centers and international trade gateways of the whole country, opening up breakthrough opportunities in economic cooperation, border trade, international logistics and tourism.

In particular, product groups include: Sea and island tourism associated with beach resorts, sightseeing, cruise tourism; Cultural tourism associated with heritage, festivals, sightseeing and cultural exploration; Ecotourism, green tourism associated with biodiversity, agriculture, rural areas; Urban tourism associated with MICE tourism, night tourism; Community tourism and craft village tourism... all achieved outstanding results.

The growth rate of labor in the tourism industry in the period 2017 - 2022 is 11%, of which the growth rate of direct labor is 12.3%, indirect labor is 10.4%. Currently, the labor force in Tay Ninh tourism industry has 2,950 people, of which direct labor is 1,050 people and indirect labor is 1,900 people. Travel businesses have the lowest labor force, lacking both quantity and quality, especially the professional qualifications and foreign languages ​​of tour guides. Regarding labor qualifications from intermediate level and above, it accounts for 35.5%, untrained labor accounts for 64.5%, lacking highly skilled labor, lacking labor with foreign language skills.

Up to now, the whole province has about 3,778 people working in the tourism sector (directly and indirectly); about 50% of trained employees meet the job requirements at a basic level or higher, about 10% are assessed as excellent, but there are still about 40% of employees who are assessed as not meeting the job requirements and have limited contribution to the overall effectiveness of the tourism industry in the province.

In order to develop tourism products and diversify the tourist market (international and domestic), the province has oriented the province's travel companies to build new tourism programs linked with tourism products and services associated with advantages and in line with the province's tourism development orientation through conducting surveys of tourist destinations (famtrips) in Tay Ninh province, to connect tours and exploit tourism potential in the province; Effectively put into operation 26 new tourism programs with 29 models associated with 10 groups of tourism products and services and built 04 more programs for the market of visitors from outside the province and international visitors.

Up to now, there have been a total of 30 tourism programs. The province has also promoted the development of eco-tourism associated with the characteristics of the Dong Thap Muoi region, focusing on developing the Tan Lap Floating Village eco-tourism area, Lang Sen wetland conservation area, and the Dong Thap Muoi medicinal herbs conservation and development research center. The effective exploitation of 30 tourism programs linking tourism products and services outside the Ba Den Mountain tourist area has created a positive spillover effect, diversifying the tourist market, attracting 5,361 visitors in 2024 (of which, domestic visitors are about 5,273 (including: 1,565 in the province, 3,708 outside the province. Foreign visitors: 88 (Australia, Taiwan, ...) domestic and foreign), gradually achieving the goal of extending the length of stay in the province and increasing the spending of tourists when coming to Tay Ninh.
