Empower team members to "grow up with the country"

Building a strong team, nurturing the future

According to Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council Pham Xuan Khanh, in recent times, the Youth Union Councils at all levels have proactively advised Party committees and authorities, and coordinated with relevant sectors to create favorable conditions for the activities of the Youth Union organizations inside and outside schools. The coordination between the Youth Union andthe education and training sector in the work of the Youth Union and the children's movement is close and effective.

The work of protecting, caring for, educating children and building teams at all levels is focused on. The team of cadres in charge of children is trained and fostered in expertise, skills and profession. The activities, programs and movements of the Team are implemented practically and creatively.

The province currently has 198 teams, 2,391 sub-teams with a total of 111,820 members, teenagers and children. Through evaluation, all levels of the army have continuously innovated and improved the quality of children's movement activities. Typical movements include: " Quang Tri children compete to implement Uncle Ho's 5 teachings", "Thousands of good deeds", "Journey to the red address", "Silk shirt for grandmother"..., which have created an environment for children to practice and educate patriotism, a good lifestyle and life skills.

Emulation movements for learning have been effectively implemented by all levels of the army, such as: "Study well - Practice diligently", "Learning goes hand in hand with practice", "Good study hours", "10-point flowers"... In the past 5 years, the whole province has established 300 study groups, 283 hobby clubs, 360 skill clubs attracting nearly 4,500 children to participate.

The campaign "For beloved juniors" was implemented in depth through the programs: "Spring Fair", "Tet in my hometown", "Launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children"... through which, the Youth Union and Pioneer chapters at all levels presented 12,500 gifts and scholarships worth more than 10 billion VND to children in difficult circumstances; built the model "Foster children of the Youth Union" to regularly sponsor nearly 500 poor children; organized more than 360 free swimming classes for 12,000 children in the whole province.

Social skills education activities for children and adolescents such as: “Semester in the army”, “Learning to be a useful person”... have been effectively implemented. Scientific playgrounds such as: “I love science”, “Young informatics”, “Young creativity”... contribute to helping children access and apply science and technology in life, stimulate creative thinking and arouse passion for research.

" Young shoots" do good work

The growth of Quang Tri children is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of the team education environment and the children's movement. A typical example is team member Nguyen Quynh Anh, class 4A, Ward 4 Primary and Secondary School, Dong Ha City, with 4 consecutive years of being an excellent student, winning many impressive achievements in provincial and central competitions and receiving the title of Uncle Ho's Good Children at the provincial level for the period 2020-2025. "Thanks to the guidance of the team and actively participating in children's movements, from a shy student, I have become more confident, active and proactive in studying and collective activities.

Through movements, competitions, thematic activities, experiential activities and social work, I have practiced communication skills, presentation skills, organizing group activities and a sense of responsibility. From there, I am always ready to take on the tasks of the team, becoming a positive factor inspiring friends to participate in team work and children's movements," said team member Nguyen Quynh Anh happily. Not only is Quynh Anh a good student, she is also a shining example when she always knows how to share, help friends and has a high awareness of preserving traditions and building a united class.

Teacher in charge of the Team of Ward 4 Primary and Secondary School, Vo Thi Luan, said that the team always focuses on organizing many practical activities to educate and train team members and children. Among them, there are many new models that have been effective and have spread, attracting a large number of team members and children to participate, such as the movements: "Raising piggy banks - Supporting children to go to school", "Small plans", the forum "Building beautiful friendships - Say no to school violence"; visiting, offering incense and taking care of more than 500 martyrs' graves at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9; building the Red Scarf House project initiated by superiors... These activities not only create a positive and healthy learning environment but also help children "grow up" in terms of knowledge, ethics and life skills.

Mr. Pham Xuan Khanh said that by regularly organizing many practical programs and activities, the army at all levels has created a training environment for children from an early age. Team members and children participate in activities actively and proactively, demonstrating a sense of responsibility, creativity and high team spirit in each activity.

Through this, students are trained in many important life skills. At the same time, participating in community-oriented activities, traditions and revolutionary ideals, contributes to fostering in students patriotism, compassion, discipline as well as responsibility for themselves, their families and society.

Over the past 5 years, the provincial military units have awarded the title of “Uncle Ho’s Good Children” to more than 69,844 team members and children; and honored more than 850 exemplary team members who have done many good deeds. By participating and making many positive contributions to practical and meaningful youth projects and tasks, many team members and children have become shining examples in studying and training, becoming the core force in the activities, work of the team and the children’s movement of the province.
