Bundles of brightly colored incense sticks, uniquely shaped in Ninh Xuan commune, Hoa Lu district, are becoming a brand-new check-in spot, attracting tourists, especially those who love taking photos for social media.
Located about 100 meters from the entrance to the Hang Mua Tourist Area, the "incense stick map" is situated in Khe Dau Ha village, Ninh Xuan commune, Hoa Lu district. This is a newly opened check-in point to serve the needs of tourists who want to visit and take photos.
Mr. Luong Anh Tai, representative of this photo spot, said: "Recently, the trend of taking photos with incense sticks has become very popular among tourists. Meanwhile, Ninh Binh only has one or two small-scale check-in spots. Therefore, I decided to 'go big' to fulfill my passion for tourism and to serve tourists."
Accordingly, on an area of 1,500 square meters, Mr. Tai dedicated 700 square meters to displaying bundles of incense sticks. The sticks are brought from Quang Phu Cau incense stick village (Ung Hoa district, Hanoi ), are chemical-free, and safe for visitors.
The dominant color chosen is red. Alongside it are bundles of yellow and green incense sticks, creating a harmonious and beautiful effect. Most notably, the image of the map of Vietnam and the red flag with a yellow star is impressively and attractively crafted from these unique bundles of incense sticks.
To provide visitors with more beautiful photo opportunities, Mr. Tai also installed additional scenic elements such as swings, a clay house, a wooden staircase, and "didn't forget" to decorate his check-in area with many Vietnamese flags.
Ms. Dinh Huong (Ninh Binh city) shared: "So I didn't have to travel far to have a photo shoot with incense sticks right here in my hometown. I was most impressed by the image of the map of Vietnam including the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos - as an affirmation to international friends about the country's sovereignty over its maritime territories."
Ms. Tran Thu Trang, a tourist from Nam Dinh, said: "After exploring Mua Cave, we were strongly attracted to this photo spot. This is the place with the most incense sticks decorated that I have ever been to. I think the ticket price of 50,000 VND per person is completely reasonable for each tourist to freely pose in such a spacious and beautiful space."
According to Tài's estimates, after about two weeks of officially opening, his photo spot receives an average of nearly 100 visitors per day. Besides domestic tourists, the number of foreign visitors is also quite high. The young man is thrilled that the image of the incense stick "map" of Vietnam is being passed around among tourists and widely shared on social media.
Speaking about future plans, Mr. Luong Anh Tai said that he will continue to improve the entrance area and constantly change the layout to create an attractive and fresh experience for tourists.
The photo spot is open from 7 AM every day of the week. According to some photographers, to get a beautiful photo with the incense sticks, visitors should choose days with gentle sunshine.
Clothing should be chosen in colors that contrast with red, such as white, yellow, or blue, and accessories like hats and hand fans should be prepared. If these are not available, tourists can rent them at nearby shops, with a variety of designs and prices ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 VND per set.
