Fujifilm X-Hold continues to hold the position of best-selling camera in Japan for the second consecutive month, according to statistics from retailer Map Camera. This achievement shows that the appeal of the Fujifilm X compact line is not just a "short-term fever" after its launch, but still maintains sales far beyond its competitors.

According to Digicame Info , the X-Hold is currently selling significantly better than the second-place model, the Sony a7C Mark II. Of the three color versions, the charcoal gray version is the most popular, with more pre-orders than the black and silver versions combined. Due to shortages, many photographers are forced to switch to the other two versions to be able to own the camera.

Map Camera’s list of the top 10 best-selling new cameras in July also reflects the diversity of the market. Fujifilm dominates with multiple products: the X-M5, X-S20 and X-T5. In addition to Fujifilm, there are five other brands on the list: Sony, Nikon, Ricoh, OM System and Canon.

Of note is the entry of the Ricoh GR IIIx in fourth place. Although Ricoh has announced the GR IV for this fall, the GR IIIx has maintained its appeal thanks to its longer built-in lens, while demand for the standard GR III has clearly declined. The company has not revealed plans for the GR IVx, but has confirmed that the GR IV HDF is in development.

OM System also surprised with the OM-5 Mark II coming in at number seven. This is a positive sign for the company, which has struggled to attract mass users. The compact, modern design of the OM-5 II is expected to help OM System regain its position in the travel and fashion camera segment.

In the used camera market, Nikon and Sony continue to dominate. The Nikon Zf led sales in July, followed by the Ricoh GR IIIx, Sony a7 III, Fujifilm X-T5 and Ricoh GR III. The next positions belong to the Nikon Z50 II, Sony a7C II, Nikon Zfc, Sony a7 IV and Nikon D750, a DSLR model that is still the choice of many loyal users.

Notably, this is the second consecutive month that the Nikon Zf has held the number one position in the list of best-selling used cameras. Map Camera believes that the Zf refund program in August may boost sales of the new version, causing users to limit their purchases of used cameras in the near future.

With this result, Fujifilm continues to demonstrate its brand strength in Japan, while Sony, Nikon, Ricoh and OM System maintain their competitive position with a diverse range of products. Observers predict that the August rankings will continue to be exciting, especially when many new models are about to be launched in the second half of the year.
