Fishing boat sinks, 4 fishermen missing.

A fishing boat from Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province, sank in the northeastern sea area while fishing, and four fishermen are missing.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huy Nam, Vice Chairman of Quang Xuong district, at approximately 1:00 AM on April 21st, while fishing in the waters off Quang Ninh province, the fishing boat of Mr. Hoang Van San, 45 years old, residing in Quang Nham commune, was sunk by a large storm.

The vessel in distress had a 300CV engine, was nearly 17 meters long, and had 8 crew members on board. By 8:00 AM today, authorities had rescued 4 crew members who were clinging to styrofoam life rafts near the sinking location.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa province has requested support from relevant agencies to assist the rescue team in their efforts to search for the four missing people, including Captain San.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, for nearly a week, the northern region has experienced thunderstorms and hailstorms due to a low-pressure trough being compressed by a cool air mass from China. This situation is forecast to continue until the end of tomorrow, concentrating in mountainous provinces during the afternoon and evening.
