Conquering Mount Everest with... your bare hands.

(HTV) - Having lost both legs in a barracks collapse while serving in the military in 2015, Russian mountaineer Rustam Nabiev still managed to conquer Mount Everest step by step by using two axes to climb the mountain.

Mountaineer Rustam Nabiev said his biggest motivation for conquering Everest was the desire to return home safely to his family. According to him, reaching the summit is only half the journey, because the real challenge is descending safely. Having witnessed many people die after reaching the summit of Everest, Nabiev was always acutely aware of the risks and never allowed himself to be complacent throughout the climb.

Everest is the 10th highest mountain in Rustam Nabiev's expedition.

Throughout the expedition, his wife, Indira Nabieva, constantly watched over and prayed for her husband. She believed that her husband's story was proof that seemingly impossible things can become a reality if people have enough willpower and faith.

Everest is the tenth mountain Nabiev has conquered. Prior to that, he had already reached many famous peaks such as Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, and Manaslu. His next goal is to complete the challenge of conquering the seven highest mountains on each continent, and his next destination will be Antarctica within the next six months.
