The formula for calculating the admission score (ĐXT) for 10th grade in Hanoi this year is as follows:

Total Score = Math Score + Literature Score + Foreign Language Score + Priority Points (if any) + Bonus Points (if any).

In this system, the scores for Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language exams are graded on a 10-point scale; fractional points of the total score are rounded to two decimal places. Only students who have not violated the regulations to the extent of having their exam results invalidated during the entrance exam and who have not received a score of 0 on any exam will be considered for admission.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, on April 18th, educational institutions collected application forms for admission to 10th grade in high schools, collected and checked application documents for direct admission; and completed the issuance of student codes and passwords to 9th grade students.

No later than April 18th, the Department will also announce the enrollment plan for financially autonomous public high schools and private high schools on the Department's information portal.

On April 21st, educational institutions in the area submitted student exam registration forms; application files and lists of students applying for direct admission to the Department of Education and Training.

From April 26th to 29th, students can view the list of candidates at their respective schools (where they studied in 9th grade); independent students and students from other provinces can view the list at the place where they submitted their application forms. Students should check all personal information, registered preferences, priority points, bonus points, etc. If any errors are found, they should promptly seek assistance and corrections.

By May 15th at the latest, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the competition ratio for each school; by May 24th at the latest, students will receive their exam notification slips.

At 9:00 AM on June 6th, students arrived at the examination site to study the examination regulations. The non-specialized public high school entrance exam will take place on June 7th and 8th; specialized high school students will take the exam on June 9th.

The Department of Education and Training is expected to announce the exam scores and the admission cutoff scores for each school between July 4th and 7th. From July 4th to 10th, appeals from students will be accepted. From July 7th to 9th, result slips will be distributed to students.

The Department of Education and Training notes that, to ensure a good chance of admission, students should pay attention to the order of their preferences, with their academic ability being the most important factor. The first preference should be a school with a cutoff score that matches their abilities and interests. The second preference should be a school with a cutoff score approximately 3 points lower than the first preference. These two schools must be in the same admissions area. For the third preference, students can choose a school in any admissions area, provided it has a cutoff score at least 3 points lower than the cutoff score of the second preference to ensure a safe choice.

This year, Hanoi has approximately 127,000 students graduating from junior high school, a decrease of nearly 6,000 compared to last year. The total enrollment quota for 10th grade in public schools is 79,000. Thus, the pass rate is over 62%, a slight increase compared to the 60-61% of previous years.
