(Dan Tri Newspaper) - In order to have money to spend, the couple Dieu and Huyen planned to take intimate photos of Dieu with a man in Hau Giang , and then extort money from the victim multiple times.
On February 17th, the Chau Thanh A District Police (Hau Giang Province) announced that the Criminal Investigation Agency had temporarily detained Nguyen Van Huyen (born in 1967) and Truong Thi Dieu (born in 1966) to clarify their involvement in extortion.

According to the investigation results, in mid-2024, Dieu, who works as a lottery ticket vendor, went to a motel with a man residing in Chau Thanh A district to "spend time together".
Here, Dieu used her phone to take pictures of the two of them at the request of her husband, Nguyen Van Huyen.
Fearing the incident would be exposed, the man gave Dieu 10 million VND, asking her to delete the photos and keep what had happened a secret.
Diệu agreed, but then used the same old story to blackmail the man.
At noon on February 16th, while Huyen and her husband were receiving 30 million VND from the victim at a coffee shop in Mot Ngan town (Chau Thanh A district), the Chau Thanh A District Police raided the place and caught them red-handed.
During questioning, Dieu and Huyen admitted to their crimes. They confessed to repeatedly extorting money from the victim, each time ranging from 5 to 40 million VND, totaling 195 million VND. After receiving the money, the two suspects spent it on personal expenses.
