National Assembly Chairman offers incense to commemorate revolutionary predecessors in Tuyen Quang

(Chinhphu.vn) - Within the framework of the Returning to the Source program organized by the National Assembly Standing Committee, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Tan Trao National Congress (August 16, 1945 - August 16, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026), on the morning of August 16, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended the inauguration ceremony of President Ton Duc Thang Memorial House; offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and revolutionary predecessors in Tuyen Quang.

Also attending were: Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former Vice President Truong My Hoa; Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly: Nguyen Khac Dinh, Tran Quang Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vu Hong Thanh, Le Minh Hoan; Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee Hau A Lenh.

At the National Assembly Standing Committee relic site located in the Tan Trao special national relic complex, Tan Trao commune, Tuyen Quang province, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and other leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, and leaders of Tuyen Quang province performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the President Ton Duc Thang Memorial House.

In the sacred and emotional atmosphere of the historic August days, the delegation respectfully offered incense, remembering the great contributions of President Ton Duc Thang - an exemplary leader, a staunch communist, a shining example of revolutionary morality, who fought and sacrificed his whole life for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people.

Writing in the memorial book here, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that on this day 80 years ago, the National Congress met in Tan Trao, issuing many important decisions, leading to the victory of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, opening the era of independence - freedom, people being the masters of the country.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that generations of National Assembly deputies vow to forever maintain their faith in the Party, strive to study, cultivate and practice following the moral example of President Ton Duc Thang, promote the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, innovation, strive to overcome all difficulties, build a comprehensively developed Vietnamese National Assembly, worthy of the people's trust and expectations, contribute to bringing the country firmly into a new era of the nation, successfully building a socialist Vietnam, a rich people, a strong country, a democratic, equitable and civilized society.

The National Assembly Chairman requested that Tuyen Quang province take care of and do a good job of preserving and managing the President Ton Duc Thang Memorial House, the National Assembly Standing Committee Relic Site and the Tan Trao Special National Relic Site, so that these places become "red addresses" to educate patriotism and revolutionary traditions for young generations.

Next, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Na Nua hut, Tan Trao special national relic site. This is where Uncle Ho lived and worked from the end of May to August 22, 1945 to lead the August General Uprising to seize power throughout the country.

Here, the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, genius leader, great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, who devoted his whole life to national independence, national reunification, freedom and happiness of the people.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation also offered incense at the “Uncle Ho in Tan Trao” Monument. The statue was modeled after a documentary photo of President Ho Chi Minh during the nearly 6 years he lived and worked in Tuyen Quang.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation offered incense at Tan Trao Communal House - where nearly 80 years ago, on August 16-17, 1945, the Tan Trao National Congress took place with the participation of more than 60 delegates representing the three regions of the North, Central and South, representatives of patriotic parties, intellectuals, people's organizations, ethnic groups, religions in the country and overseas Vietnamese. The National Congress approved our Party's policy of uprising to seize power and 10 major policies of the Viet Minh, elected the Vietnam National Liberation Committee (ie the provisional government) with leader Ho Chi Minh as Chairman.

At the Memorial House of Revolutionary Ancestors in the Tan Trao Special National Relic Site, the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation offered incense to commemorate and pay tribute to the revolutionary predecessors who lived and worked in Tuyen Quang during the pre-uprising period and the 9-year resistance war against the French colonialists.

At the incense offering places, before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh and his predecessors, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the working delegation vowed to firmly adhere to the goal and path of national independence associated with socialism that the Party and Uncle Ho had chosen; continue to thoroughly grasp the study and follow of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; promote the spirit of solidarity, mettle, courage and intelligence of Vietnam, and the nation's cultural traditions; strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges, unite and join hands with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to successfully carry out the set goals and tasks, and build our country to become more and more dignified and beautiful.
