The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citing preliminary information from Vietnamese representative offices in Myanmar and Thailand, has not yet recorded any reports of Vietnamese citizens being affected by the earthquake in Myanmar.

On the afternoon of March 28, a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, injuring many people and damaging buildings in Myanmar and Thailand.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand and Myanmar to quickly gather information on the situation of Vietnamese citizens. According to preliminary information from Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand, so far, there has been no information about Vietnamese citizens being affected by the earthquake.
Following the directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese representative offices in Myanmar and Thailand continue to maintain close contact with local authorities and Vietnamese community leaders in earthquake-affected areas to closely monitor the situation; are ready to deploy citizen protection plans if necessary; and advise people to closely monitor announcements and comply with instructions from local authorities to prepare for aftershocks in the next 24 hours.

Earlier, the earthquake that struck Myanmar in the early afternoon of March 28th caused strong tremors that were felt in many parts of Thailand, including the capital Bangkok. Currently, authorities are advising people not to enter their homes for safety reasons.
