It is expected that 2024 will see many important events and major celebrations; notably the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 / May 7, 2024) and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 / December 22, 2024).

At the meeting, representatives from the General Department of Logistics and other relevant agencies reported on the draft plan for ensuring the unit's logistics support for important events in 2024, with a focus on the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

Lieutenant General Vu Hai San chaired a working session on ensuring logistics for major events in 2024.

Accordingly, the 70th anniversary celebration of the Dien Bien Phu Victory included rallies, parades, and marches with the participation of many combined military and civilian forces.

The General Department of Logistics and its affiliated agencies and units have developed comprehensive support plans covering all aspects, from training to official missions: food, clothing, accommodation, military medical services, fuel, transportation, etc. Detailed plans and contingency strategies are in place for each situation, aligning with the overall plans of the Ministry of National Defense and the organizing committee.

According to a report from a representative of the Finance Department, the financial guarantee plan will be implemented uniformly in accordance with the guidelines, regulations, and approvals of the competent authorities.

Regarding healthcare for delegates and participating forces, according to the head of the Military Medical Department, a field hospital is planned to be established in Dien Bien Phu; a mobile emergency response team will be ready to respond to any situations that may arise. The Military Medical Department is also considering the option of mobilizing medical facilities in surrounding localities as well as plans for transporting patients in specific situations.

Scenes from the working session.

Concluding the meeting, Lieutenant General Vu Hai San emphasized: The General Department of Logistics and other agencies need to be proactive and ensure good logistics support from the preparation stages (training and practice of forces participating in the parade and review) and throughout the entire process of organizing the commemoration ceremony. Specifically, the Finance Department needs to prepare budget estimates early and compile reports for approval to ensure the budget for the events. The Military Medical Department must ensure the health of the troops during training, with a strict plan and effective disease prevention measures.

Conduct thorough on-site surveys to develop a realistic plan, especially regarding food, accommodation, and transportation, ensuring proper arrangements, thoughtfulness, and absolute safety.

Based on the logistics plan for the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, we will continue to develop a logistics plan for the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, ensuring it is solemn, thorough, safe, and economical.
