The traditional rural market of the Mac Dynasty is an annual activity to preserve and promote the cultural characteristics of the Red River Delta in general, especially the ancient capital of Duong Kinh, the homeland of the Mac Dynasty. The event is associated with the memorial of Queen Mother Vu Thi Ngoc Toan, a woman who made great contributions to the history of the Mac Dynasty, having a lasting influence on contemporary and modern social life.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's event continues the success of the 2nd Mac Dynasty Countryside Market (2024), and will take place for 5 days, from July 8 to July 12, 2025 at the Mac Family Temple, Kien Hung Commune, Kien Thuy District. The event is expected to attract a large number of Mac descendants, local people as well as tourists from all over the country to attend, contributing to forming a highlight in the historical - cultural - spiritual tourism route of Hai Phong City.

The grand opening ceremony, honoring cultural heritage, will take place at 8:15 p.m. on July 8, 2025, broadcast live on channels and digital platforms of the Hai Phong City Press and Communications Center.
Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Hoang Van Ke, Chairman of the Mac Clan Council in Hai Phong, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that this year the fair will be organized on a larger scale and with many new and unique features. In particular, the Opening Ceremony will be associated with three important events: Announcing the decision and receiving the National Special Monument Certificate for the Temple of the Mac Dynasty Kings (Mac Family Temple); Recognizing the Intangible Cultural Heritage for the Mac Dynasty Traditional Wrestling Festival; Inauguration of the Mac Family Temple after a period of restoration and renovation.
The third traditional rural market this year will have 50 to 55 booths, including 20 OCOP booths from Hai Phong City, along with many typical products from neighboring localities such as Hai Duong : rươi, mung bean cake, lychee, Chu Dau pottery... The products are guaranteed to have clear origin and rich in regional cultural identity.

During the market days, many unique folk art programs will be held to serve the people and tourists: Cheo performances, Chau Van singing, worship singing, traditional musical instrument performances, water puppetry, etc. In particular, the opening and closing nights will feature large-scale art programs staged by Hai Phong Traditional Theater, gathering hundreds of actors, artists, and descendants of the Mac family.
Through this event, the precious historical, cultural and spiritual values of the Mac family's ancestral temple relic, traditional occupations from the Mac dynasty, as well as OCOP products and unique handicrafts of the localities will be introduced and widely promoted to the public inside and outside the city.
The 3rd Mac Dynasty Countryside Market in 2025 is not only a historical gratitude activity but also a bridge between the past and the present, contributing significantly to the construction of sustainable cultural tourism imbued with national identity of Hai Phong in particular and the whole country in general.
