With high responsibility, promoting the spirit of solidarity, unity, all for the common benefit, in recent times, the two provinces of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu have jointly built the Provincial Merger Project in the spirit of closely following the Central Government's directives and instructions, implementing them seriously and on schedule.

Looking deeply into the history of the land, cultural identity, revolutionary tradition, the process of protecting and building the homeland, Ca Mau - Bac Lieu can affirm that "although two, they are one". Especially in the 20 years, from 1976 to 1996, Ca Mau - Bac Lieu with the common cradle of Minh Hai province has become a source of pride, blood affection, an indelible milestone in the history of the southernmost land of the Fatherland. The achievements that Minh Hai province has achieved are extremely great and valuable. That asset still retains its value, lessons learned and evokes strong inspiration in the process of building and developing Ca Mau province now and in the future.

Before the merger, the two provinces of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu both defined and affirmed their key strengths, with an irreplaceable position in the Mekong Delta and the whole country in a number of prominent areas such as agriculture, industry, renewable energy development, clean energy, tourism, marine economy, etc. After the merger, Ca Mau province will complement each other to create a complete picture, promoting comparative advantages and outstanding, distinct strengths. The integration of culture, resources, openness of development space, the Party's will - the people's heart will resonate, multiply and crystallize the strong stature of the homeland in the new journey.

The merged Ca Mau province will have 450,900 hectares of aquaculture, with an estimated output of 566 thousand tons/year, affirming its position as the "shrimp capital of Vietnam" with the highest export turnover in the country and earning about 2.5 billion USD/year. With 3 sides bordering the sea, a coastline of 310 km and a vast sea area of ​​about 120,000 km2, Ca Mau has become one of the largest "aquatic granaries" in the country. At the same time, Ca Mau has all the conditions to become a dynamic, modern, comprehensive marine economic center and a clean energy and renewable energy center of the region and the whole country.

When completed, major projects and works will brighten up the southernmost province. These include the project to upgrade and expand Ca Mau Airport. Continue to upgrade and expand the route from the provincial center to Dat Mui. Form and build an expressway from Ca Mau City to Dat Mui. Speed ​​up the planning and investment in the construction of Hon Khoai deep-water port and build a connecting route from the mainland to Hon Khoai port, orienting the development of the "southernmost continent" to Hon Khoai island.
