Outstanding businesses honored
To improve ESG transformation capacity, the Vice President of the Vietnam Economic Science Association stated that businesses need to start from a strategic perspective, not viewing ESG as a cost, but as an investment for the future. Accordingly, the transformation roadmap includes 5 steps: Initiating and committing from senior leaders, establishing an internal ESG management organization; Assessing and positioning the current state of the business compared to international standards; Developing specific strategies and goals, integrating ESG into the entire operation; Deploying and integrating, including personnel training, applying green technology and digitizing processes; and Measuring - reporting - continuous improvement with specific and transparent indicators according to international standards. At the same time, he emphasized that the role of business leaders is very important in the transition to green growth.
“ESG and green growth are not a short-term project or a destination but a journey of continuous improvement. I think that if businesses do not have leaders who change their thinking, fully understand the requirements of ESG and green transformation, it will be very difficult for us to develop in the current context. Whether the transformation is successful or not depends on the leader, the leader must have a vision, have political commitment based on resources - in which human resources are very important, from which we can create a system, appropriate processes for sustainable culture" - Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Tuan emphasized. Sharing at the forum, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu, Project Development Director of IPC Construction Joint Stock Company said that determining that business development associated with ESG will bring many sustainable benefits, so in activities, businesses orient and focus on projects using green technology. “In the process of carrying out its business activities, IPC is also very clear about complying with environmental commitments, using the most optimal green technologies to minimize environmental pollution, protect the ecosystem, and prevent dust in the construction of wind power projects when working at the projects. Along with that, strictly controlling the issue of health and environmental safety. In addition, businesses must comply with social requirements, and contributing to the community is also highly valued by our business” - Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu shared.
Also at the program, the Organizing Committee announced and honored the Top 100, Top 10 Green Vietnam ESG Enterprises 2025; Top 10 Green Vietnam ESG Industrial Parks 2025 and Top 50, Top 10 Innovative and Effective Business Enterprises 2025 - operating in the fields of retail; insurance; real estate; construction; construction materials; banking; finance - securities; logistics; technology - telecommunications - digital transformation... The enterprises honored today are typical units in integrating environmental, social and governance standards into development strategies, demonstrating a strong commitment to the goal of sustainable and responsible growth. At the same time, they constantly innovate comprehensively in governance, operation and technology to contribute to improving operational efficiency, consolidating their position and contributing to the overall development of the whole country. Vietnam National Industry and Energy Group (Petrovietnam), along with 6 member units: PV GAS, BSR, PVEP, PTSC , PV Drilling, PV Power are the units that are duly recognized for the persistent efforts and long-term strategies that Petrovietnam is pursuing in the journey of sustainable development and energy transformation.
