Ba Ria-Vung Tau Club terminates contracts of 5 players who were prosecuted for match-fixing

" Receiving information from the authorities about the violations of a group of players in competing in the National First Division Football Tournament season 23/24, the Board of Directors of Ba Ria Vung Tau Football Club decided to strictly handle the violations by terminating the labor contracts with the violating individuals according to regulations ," Ba Ria Vung Tau Club announced on its homepage.

On the morning of February 1, the Investigation Police Agency, Ba Ria Vung Tau Provincial Police, issued decisions to prosecute the case and prosecute the defendants including: LBGH (born in 2002, residing in Thanh Hoa province, midfielder position), PVP (born in 2004, residing in Hai Duong province, striker position), NSH (born in 1994, residing in Dong Thap province, goalkeeper position), NQH (born in 2004, residing in Dong Nai province, midfielder position) and TKA (born in 2004, residing in Ben Tre province, midfielder position) for the act of "Gambling" according to Article 321 of the Penal Code.

Some players of Ba Ria Vung Tau Club participated in gambling.

These decisions have been approved by the People's Procuracy at the same level. The 5 subjects above are players of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Football Club.

According to initial information, the above players discussed and agreed to play "at a disadvantage" to help Da Nang Club win in the National First Division match on December 24, 2023. After that, they participated in betting on Da Nang Club's victory on betting sites and illegally profited.
