Also last night, CAHN Club had a dramatic draw with Beijing Guoan Club (China) in group E. This is considered one of the best matches in the first round of the C2 Asian Cup this season.
Another match that was also very dramatic was the match between PG Patthum United (Thailand) and former Asian champions Pohang Steelers (Korea). This match ended with a 1-0 victory for Pohang Steelers.
Despite the win, the former Asian champions were still unable to take the top spot in Group H, as Tampines Rovers had a resounding 3-0 win over Kaya-Iloilo mentioned above.

The remaining match involved Southeast Asian teams in the first round, ending in a 1-1 draw between Persib Bandung (Indonesia) and Lion City Sailors (Singapore), in Group G. The team from the lion island is the current runner-up of the Asian Cup C2.
According to the tournament rules, the four groups E, F, G and H are for teams from East Asia (including football teams from Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia). Groups A, B, C and D are for teams from West Asia (West Asia, Central Asia and South Asia).
The teams will play a double round robin in the group stage, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage. Only in the final will the East Asian and West Asian teams meet.
The strongest candidate for the 2025-2026 AFC Cup Winners' Cup is Al-Nassr Club (Saudi Arabia). This is the team that owns superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), along with many world- class players such as Joao Felix (Portugal), Sadio Mane (Senegal), Kingsley Coman (France)...
