Luong Thinh: New direction, elevating key agricultural products

Not only stopping at the success of the 3 existing OCOP products, the Resolution of the 1st Party Congress of Luong Thinh commune sets the goal of turning cinnamon and Bat Do bamboo shoots into high-value OCOP products, continuing the success story on the journey of building advanced new rural areas.

The foundation for Luong Thinh's aspiration to reach further today is firmly built from the success of the OCOP program in recent years. 3 products including: tangerine, Dien grapefruit and honey have become a source of pride, bringing significant changes to people's lives. To achieve this "sweet fruit", the accompanying and supporting role of local authorities is extremely important.

Mr. Pham Anh Duc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Luong Thinh Commune shared: Today's achievements are the crystallization of the people's tireless efforts and the "midwife" role of the government. We have accompanied the cooperatives, from supporting access to capital, inviting experts for technical training, to building packaging and traceability stamps so that products can confidently reach the market.

Accordingly, Luong Thinh determined that the greatest potential of the locality that is still waiting to be "awakened" is more than 3,200 hectares of cinnamon and nearly 640 hectares of Bat Do bamboo. The Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term has identified one of the strategic breakthroughs as "improving productivity, quality and added value of key agricultural products".

Talking about this orientation, Mr. Vu Le Chung Anh - Secretary of the Commune Party Committee shared with enthusiasm: We not only want to maintain the 3 existing OCOP products, but also have the aspiration to increase the value of cinnamon and Bat Do bamboo. The problem is not only selling raw products, but also building deep processing facilities, creating high value-added products, competitive enough in the large market.

By 2030, Luong Thinh aims to have at least 2 new OCOP products from these 2 main crops.

To do that, the commune is focusing on solving the biggest challenge of finding a stable output market and attracting businesses to invest in the processing sector; applying science and technology , developing organic raw material areas...

The journey to bring Luong Thinh agricultural products further is still ahead, but with a clear roadmap and the determination of the entire political system, the people here have every reason to believe in a brighter future.
