The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the coming days, cold air will continue to strengthen in our country.
Due to the influence of continuously strengthened cold air combined with high altitude divergence, from November 13-15, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will experience few clouds and sunny weather during the day.
At night and early morning, the lowest temperature drops, the weather turns cold, some places in the high mountains are very cold. The Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An are still around 16-18 degrees, some places in the Northern mountains are below 13 degrees.
In the further forecast, from around the beginning of next week (November 16-17), the North is likely to receive a strong cold air mass, which can cause widespread cold, with severe cold in mountainous areas. Also due to the influence of this cold air mass, from around November 15-16, from Ha Tinh to Lam Dong there is a possibility of widespread heavy rain.

From November 13, the North will turn cold at night and early morning, with strong sunshine during the day.
Over the past month, the North has experienced 4 cold spells, notably the cold spell on the night of October 19 caused strong winds of level 7, gusts of level 9 at Bach Long Vy station, Con Co station and Ly Son station with strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8. In the North, the lowest daily temperature is commonly from 18-20 degrees, in mountainous areas from 15-17 degrees, in high mountainous areas below 13 degrees such as Mau Son (Lang Son) 8.9 degrees; Tam Dao (Phu Tho) 12.1 degrees; Sin Ho (Lai Chau) 12.2 degrees.
The cold air on October 26 also caused the temperature in the North to drop to 19-22 degrees, in mountainous areas to 17-19 degrees, and in high mountainous areas below 15 degrees. Some places recorded quite low temperatures such as Mau Son at 12.7 degrees; Pha Din (Dien Bien) at 12.8 degrees; Dong Van (Tuyen Quang) at 13.5 degrees.
The cold air on November 3 also caused the temperature in the North to drop sharply, in which Pha Din (Dien Bien) was 12 degrees; Sapa (Lao Cai) 10.9 degrees; Dong Van (Tuyen Quang) 12.5 degrees; Mau Son (Lang Son) 10.1 degrees.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in November and early December, cold air will continue to increase in frequency and intensity. The North may experience widespread cold around the second half of December.
Cold air masses combined with high-altitude easterly wind disturbances and the windward terrain of the Truong Son mountain range can also cause widespread thunderstorms in the Central region, leading to the risk of flash floods, landslides and inundation.
