Thanh Hoa FC has been banned by FIFA from registering new players for the second time.

FIFA has just issued a temporary ban on registering new players for Dong A Thanh Hoa FC (Thanh Hoa FC), for a period of three consecutive transfer windows starting in November 2025.

In early November 2025, Thanh Hoa FC was banned by FIFA from registering new players starting from the 5th. As a result, coach Choi Won Kwon's team may be unable to sign players mid-season.

The temporary ban may involve Igor Silva, whose last game was on January 14, 2025. The Brazilian defender, born in 2000, was registered for the 2024-2025 season, playing 7 matches and scoring one goal for Thanh Hoa FC.

It is possible that, before receiving the full amount of his contract termination fee, Igor Silva sued Thanh Hoa FC at FIFA.

Currently, the chairman of Thanh Hoa FC, Mr. Cao Tien Doan, has been arrested. The club's accounts have been frozen. According to coach Choi, the team has not paid salaries for the past 3-4 months, also due to this issue.

This period is considered the most difficult for Thanh Hoa football. They are considering returning the team to the local authorities, but the players are still striving to weather the storm together.

Thanh Hoa FC has moved out of second-to-last place and jumped to 11th. They secured a 1-0 victory away at Song Lam Nghe An but narrowly missed out on a win in a 1-1 draw against Hoang Anh Gia Lai .
