In early November 2025, Thanh Hoa Club was banned by FIFA from registering new players from the 5th. Accordingly, coach Choi Won Kwon's team may not be able to buy players in the middle of the season.
The temporary ban may concern Igor Silva, whose last match was on January 14, 2025. The Brazilian defender, born in 2000, was registered for the 2024-2025 season, playing 7 matches and scoring one goal for the Thanh Hoa team.
It is possible that when he has not received the full contract liquidation payment, Igor Silva has sued Thanh Hoa Club to FIFA.
Currently, the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Club, Mr. Cao Tien Doan has been arrested. The club's account has been frozen. According to Coach Choi, the team has not paid salaries for the past 3-4 months, also because of the above problem.
This period is considered the most difficult for Thanh football. They are planning to return the team to the locality, however the players are still trying to "weather the storm" together.
Thanh Hoa FC escaped the second-to-last position and jumped to 11th. They won 1-0 at Song Lam Nghe An and missed out on victory in a 1-1 draw against Hoang Anh Gia Lai .
FIFA's "new player registration ban" is imposed on clubs that violate various issues, mainly related to financial disputes or violations of regulations between federations.
By issuing this temporary ban, FIFA wants to ensure transparency and compliance with regulations. At the same time, it helps relevant parties to grasp clubs that are not eligible to sign contracts.
