The 2024-2025 AFC Women's Champions League (AFC Women's Champions League) group stage features 12 teams, divided into 3 groups (4 teams per group) playing a round-robin format to determine rankings. The top two teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed teams (from all 3 groups), will advance to the quarter-finals (knockout stage). At the end of the group stage, Ho Chi Minh City FC impressively secured their place in the next round as the runner-up in Group C.
At this point, the 8 teams that will compete in the quarterfinals of the 2024-2025 AFC Women's Champions League have been fully revealed. Accordingly, the 8 teams are divided into two groups: seeded and unseeded. The seeded group consists of the 3 group winners and the best-performing second-placed team: Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), Melbourne City (Australia), Incheon Red Angel (South Korea), and Ho Chi Minh City FC (best-performing second-placed team). The unseeded group includes Abu Dhabi Country FC (UAE), Bam Khatoon (Iran), Wuhan Jiangda (China), and Taichung Blue Whale (Taiwan).
Huynh Nhu (9) is the brightest star of Ho Chi Minh City Club in the group stage.
The four quarter-final pairings will be determined by a draw. The draw rules are: seeded teams will face unseeded teams, and teams that were in the same group will not meet again in the quarter-finals.
In the group stage, Ho Chi Minh City FC was in the same group as Taichung Blue Whale FC. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City FC's opponent in the quarterfinals will be one of three teams: Abu Dhabi Country FC (UAE), Bam Khatoon (Iran), or Wuhan Jiangda (China).
The quarter-finals will be played in a single-leg knockout format. The seeded teams will play at home. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City FC has a slight advantage, as they will once again play at Thong Nhat Stadium in the quarter-finals of the 2024-2025 AFC Women's Champions League.
