After receiving a report from residents about the unusual death of a 2-year-old child named Oi (who had not yet been given a birth certificate), the police in Thanh Hoa commune, Bu Dop district ( Binh Phuoc province) came to investigate the case.

Upon inspection, the commune police discovered that the boy's body showed signs of external force and reported it to the district police. The Bu Dop district police also reported the incident to the Director of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police Department.

Immediately afterwards, the investigative units of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police and the Bu Dop District Police examined the victim's body and summoned Nguyen Thanh Tuan for questioning.

The autopsy revealed that the victim suffered external trauma to the head and abdomen. Tuan, however, confessed to hitting the child after giving him milk because he was being mischievous.

Previously, VOV reported that on August 21, Nguyen Thanh Tuan was at home looking after baby Oi (the child of Ms. Tran Thi Thu X) at his private house in Hamlet 6, Thanh Hoa Commune, Bu Dop District.

Later that evening, Ms. X saw Tuan carrying baby Oi running to his workplace (100m from home) and saying the baby had "vomited milk," so everyone helped to give the child first aid.

Seeing their child turning blue, Tuan and his common-law wife rushed her to the hospital, but the baby died at the clinic. Following the unusual death of baby Oi, the villagers reported it to the police.
