Quang An Street is 1.2 km long, starting from the intersection with Xuan Dieu Street and ending at the intersection with Quang Khanh Street, located in Tay Ho District, about 5 km north of Hanoi's Old Quarter.
In late March, the renowned British travel magazine, Time Out, honored Guang'an as one of the 30 most interesting streets in the world , ranking 25th. The list included famous streets such as High Street (Melbourne, Australia), Hollywood Road (Hong Kong, China), Fifth Avenue, Park Slope (New York, USA), Camden Street (Dublin, Ireland)... In Southeast Asia, Guang'an ranked third, after Jalan Petaling (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and Ban Tad Thong (Bangkok, Thailand).
Quang An Street is described as: "A beautiful street located along West Lake, in Hanoi's new and vibrant international center. Quang An is increasingly home to cafes, restaurants, and fashion boutiques, and is close to the unique and lively night flower market. Yet, it remains a truly peaceful place for an everyday stroll."
Ms. Thuy Anh, the owner of a French restaurant on Quang An Street, said, "This street holds many interesting things that you have to discover for yourself to fully appreciate."
What is it about this street that makes it so interesting?
Public destinations

As one of the streets surrounding West Lake, Quang An is a popular spot for Hanoi residents to exercise and relax daily, especially in the mornings and evenings, with activities such as cycling and jogging. The sidewalks and paths leading to and from the lake are often used as places to sit, rest, relax, and chat between workouts.
At the end of the street, where it intersects with Quang Khanh Street, is Quang An Flower Garden Park, which has sports equipment, benches, and playgrounds for children.
Better World is a place to buy handcrafted souvenirs from around the world, where a portion of the proceeds goes to local charities.
The once-famous Sao Mai swimming pool area has now been transformed into a hotel and restaurant complex.
Restaurants
Quang An is a street where every house overlooks the lake, so no matter where you sit, you'll get a beautiful view. It's full of restaurants serving European and Asian food, beer gardens, bars, and vegetarian options. Some notable names include Cork and Bottle, Le Jardin, Mr Beer, Ben Thuy Restaurant, Con Heo Beo Restaurant, VOU fast food restaurant, Dao An vegetarian restaurant, Olé - Tapas, Wine & Cocktails, and more.
Long Lee, manager of Cork and Bottle, said what he liked most was that the street wasn't as crowded and chaotic as many other places in Hanoi.
"The best time to sit here and admire West Lake is during this transitional season, from around 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the atmosphere that's hard to find anywhere else in Hanoi," Long said, adding that about 70% of the visitors are foreigners.
Coffee and tea shops
Nagocha Teahouse, Eastern & Oriental Tea House and Coffee Parlour, and the row of about 10 cafes at the end of the street, such as Kali and Bao Nhi, are always crowded in the evenings, on weekends, and during holidays. The drinks here are mostly affordable or mid-range options, suitable for all types of customers.
Ms. Ha Thu, from Dong Da district, said that on weekends, after cycling around West Lake, she always stops for coffee at the end of the street. If she's thinking about pastries and tea, she'll go to Eastern & Oriental Tea House. "Whenever anyone asks where to go on the weekend, I always recommend this place," Ms. Thu said.
Homestays and hotels
As described by Time Out, Quang An truly is a "new international hub," with many foreigners living there. Consequently, the street is lined with homestays, hotels, and rental properties such as Hanoi Sunflower Westlake, Jin's Chill Spot 2, West Lake Villa, Elegant Mansion 88, and several other smaller homestays. Foreigners often rent long-term, monthly or yearly, with apartments ranging in price from 15 million to around 30 million VND per month.
surrounding areas
Besides Quang An, the surrounding areas also create a distinctive space for the "new international center on West Lake" such as Quang Ba night flower market, Tay Ho Temple, and the food court around Xuan Dieu and Dang Thai Mai streets.
Currently, due to ongoing repairs and traffic rerouting on surrounding streets, tourists and locals visiting the Quang An area should pay attention to traffic signs to avoid entering restricted areas or experiencing traffic congestion.
