Opportunities for AI engineers to solve specific AI problems

On September 30, the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) officially launched the Viettel AI Race 2025. This is a large-scale playground for Vietnamese citizens interested in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and the aspiration to solve practical problems with technology. The competition aims to find, nurture and nurture a generation of young AI engineers, ready to contribute to the national digital transformation roadmap and Viettel's key projects.

The competition is part of the human resource development strategy in the national strategic technology fields that Viettel participates in, including AI, semiconductors, 5G/6G, cloud computing...

“Viettel AI Race is part of the philosophy of training and nurturing young talents that Viettel has effectively implemented in previous programs for young technology personnel, contributing to the creation of a digital society and affirming Viettel as an attractive destination for technology talents,” said a representative of Viettel Group.

Coming to Viettel AI Race 2025, the teams will develop products to solve 3 key groups of problems: Optimizing network operations; analyzing, extracting, and organizing data from complex text; quickly and accurately identifying and locating packages; corresponding to the branches of artificial intelligence: machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.

This is an opportunity for young people to turn ideas into products, contributing to solving digital technology problems in reality. By participating in the competition, contestants have the opportunity to interact and exchange with engineers and leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence at Viettel, access data and actual operating processes to develop their AI products.

The prize structure includes 1 overall First Prize worth 100,000,000 VND; 3 First Prizes for each group of key problems worth 55,000,000 VND/prize, 3 Consolation Prizes worth 10,000,000 VND/prize along with 15 Ambassador Prizes and 6 Pioneer Prizes in the Online round. In particular, young engineers have the opportunity to become human resources in the AI field of Viettel.

To participate in Viettel AI Race 2025, candidates must register no later than October 28, 2025 at the website (https://tuyendung.viettel.vn/viettelairace), choose 1 of 3 topics to do and submit from September 30, 2025 to November 11, 2025. On November 14, 2025, the Organizing Committee will confirm the results, announce 15 Ambassador Awards and 6 Pioneer Awards.

The six best teams will be selected to participate in round 2, continuing to practice from November 15 to November 30, 2025 to master all 3 exam questions. The final round is expected to be held from December 1, 2025 to December 3, 2025 in Hanoi , with the main activity being the Hackathon Festival (December 2, 2025), in which the teams will have 8 working hours in the space arranged by the Organizing Committee to complete the exam, present and debate before the Jury. After that, the Top 6 teams will visit and study at Viettel Group, before participating in the award ceremony on December 3, 2025.

In addition, according to Viettel, there will also be accompanying events such as: Webinar "Viettel AI Race - 3 practical AI problems", there will be 2 seminars in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City specializing in the field of AI.
