Vietnam team prioritizes young players to prepare for 2 matches against Nepal

In order to bring a "new breeze" and diversify tactical options for the Vietnam National Team, Coach Kim Sang-sik summoned many young players from the U23 team to prepare for the two matches against the Nepal National Team.

On September 30, head coach Kim Sang-sik announced the list of 24 players of the Vietnam National Team to gather in the 4th session of 2025, preparing for the 2 matches against the Nepal National Team in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup next October.

Notably, this list features eight young faces from the U23 generation that just won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship and qualified for the 2026 Asian U23 Qualifiers, including: Tran Trung Kien, Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Hieu Minh, Nguyen Xuan Bac, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Phi Hoang, Nguyen Nhat Minh and Nguyen Dinh Bac.

The presence of this group of young players promises to bring a breath of fresh air and more tactical options to the team.

Besides, the "Golden Dragon Army" also continues to maintain its core force with many veterans with extensive international competition experience such as Do Duy Manh, Bui Tien Dung, Pham Xuan Manh, Pham Tuan Hai, Nguyen Hai Long, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Nguyen Quang Hai, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, Nguyen Tien Linh... and many other familiar pillars.

The combination of youth and experience is expected to create depth and balance for the squad, ensuring both succession and stability in gameplay.

This is also the team's long-term orientation in the process of establishing a new generation squad to aim for important goals ahead.

According to plan, the Vietnam team will gather again on October 4 in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for two matches against the Nepal team.

The first leg will take place at Go Dau Stadium on October 9, while the second leg will be held at Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City) on October 14, 2025.

The Organizing Committee has also announced the ticket sales plan for the above two matches. Tickets have two denominations of 200,000 VND and 400,000 VND, released exclusively online on the OneU application (formerly known as VinID) from September 29 to October 7 in 2 phases (from 9:00 on September 29 and from 0:00 on October 6).

Tickets will be sold directly at the ticket counters at Go Dau and Thong Nhat stadiums from October 4, delivered via VietnamPost or received at post offices according to regulations./.
