This regulation shows that the control of transactions through the banking system is getting tighter and can help minimize fraudulent activities through the banking system. Banks are responsible for supporting users to register biometrics at any time, and will not make exceptions for unverified accounts. To encourage customers to quickly verify, VPBank has just announced a gift program of up to nearly 7 billion VND for customers who perform biometric verification or update their identity documents between November 7, 2024 and January 23, 2025. Accordingly, VPBank will give each new customer and existing customer of VPBank who performs biometric verification and updates their ID documents 1 lucky draw code. On Friday evening of the following week, the bank will conduct a lucky draw to select the 7 luckiest customers to receive a special gift of 7 iPhone 16 Promax phones worth 35 million VND/phone.
