After more than 9 months of construction, on September 28, the new Phong Chau bridge officially opened to traffic. The painful images and tears when the old Phong Chau bridge collapsed due to Typhoon Yagi in 2024, killing 8 people, are no longer there. Today, there are laughter and tears of happiness of people walking on the new, spacious bridge.

On the morning of September 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony of the new Phong Chau bridge - National Highway 32C in Phung Nguyen commune, Phu Tho province.

Not only is the new bridge connecting the two banks of the river, Phong Chau bridge also carries great expectations for change and promoting the socio -economic development of the locality and region.

Moved by the joy of the people today when the bridge was inaugurated, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: The new Phong Chau Bridge is a bridge connecting the people with the Party and the State, connecting people with people, connecting the people with the heroic Vietnamese Army.

People were delighted when the bridge was completed, General Phan Van Giang - Minister of National Defense and Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh received the gratitude of local people.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation traveled across the new Phong Chau bridge to share joy with the people of Van Xuan commune (old Tam Nong district).

Today, the new Phong Chau Bridge was inaugurated as promised, amid the joy of the masses. The Prime Minister thanked the local people - those who accompanied, shared, and encouraged the construction forces. The people warmly welcomed and thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The new Phong Chau Bridge connects Phung Nguyen and Van Xuan communes of Phu Tho province. This is an emergency project to replace the old bridge, which collapsed two main spans in September 2024 due to the impact of super typhoon Yagi. The new Phong Chau Bridge is 653m long; 20.5m wide, including 4 lanes for motor vehicles, built on a permanent scale, with a total investment of 692.5 billion VND from the central budget reserve. The road section at the beginning of the bridge is built according to the standards of a level 3 plain road, about 270m long; roadbed width 20.5m; road surface width 15m, design speed 80km/h.
