In the strategy of building and developing the country, our Party always considers people as a factor of special importance, deciding the success of the revolution. The consistent ideology of the Party is to constantly innovate education and training (GD&DT) to foster and develop high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of building and defending the Fatherland.

Implementing Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW dated November 4, 2013 of the 11th Party Central Committee on "Fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization in the context of a socialist-oriented market economy and international integration" (referred to as Resolution 29), in the past 10 years (2013 - 2023), despite many difficulties and challenges, the province has always paid attention to directing the synchronous and drastic implementation of fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training in the province. The initial results achieved are innovative and breakthrough, contributing significantly to improving the quality of human resources of the province, meeting the development requirements of the renovation period.

Lesson 1: The leading school in 4.0 in the island district

Ngo Quyen High School (Phu Quy island district) is evaluated by the province as one of the typical units in implementing effective models and methods in implementing educational innovation. In particular, this is the first public high school in the province to take the lead in applying information technology in school management and operation many years ago, meeting the requirements of teaching innovation and educational management.

Modern teaching environment

Although 56 nautical miles (120 km) away from the mainland, the teaching environment at Ngo Quyen High School (Phu Quy district) is very modern, fully equipped, not inferior to schools in the city center. The entire school's classroom system is equipped with large-screen TVs, internet connection and security cameras. Students are allowed to use their phones to participate in learning according to teachers' requests and are sponsored with 4G data packages with high traffic and very low cost. Thanks to being equipped with information technology application skills, when the Covid-19 epidemic first broke out in 2020, the school was always proactive in communicating with parents and organizing online teaching instead of in-person teaching when there was a policy of temporarily stopping going to school, not stopping learning.

At that time, both teachers and students were very ready for online learning, especially the skillful and rich experience in compiling electronic lesson plans of many teachers helped make online lessons during the pandemic always lively. Nguyen Manh Tuong - a student of Ngo Quyen High School shared: "The school's teachers are always proactive in applying information technology to teaching, especially building Powerpoint lectures, puzzle games combined with knowledge review. In addition, extracurricular activities are built diversely and especially always accompanied by eye-catching, vivid presentation videos to create interesting and effective lessons for students. In particular, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the school has taken measures to replace face-to-face meetings with online tools such as Zoom and Team to help teachers and students always stay connected." Thanks to that, even though 2 of the 3 years of high school were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, generations of students like Tuong still have access to full knowledge, especially when they graduate, they are fully equipped with solid foundational knowledge of technology to integrate well with new conditions.

The leading school in 4.0

Determining the application of information technology in the educational environment is an urgent requirement, both to meet the development requirements of the times and to help exploit and promote the modern intellectual foundation of humanity to help educational activities achieve higher efficiency. To do that, the team of managers and teachers of Ngo Quyen High School are always dedicated, constantly searching and researching to find the most useful solutions to apply to management and teaching. In particular, the school has initiated the solution "Application of Microsoft Office 365 in school management". This solution was recognized by the Department of Education and Training as a type B initiative on August 21, 2020; the Science and Innovation Council of Binh Thuan province evaluated and recognized it as highly effective (type B) and having an impact on the whole province in 2021.

Mr. Le Quang Trong - Vice Principal said: Ngo Quyen High School is the first school in Binh Thuan province to be granted the right to create and manage the Office 365 Education system internally by Microsoft with 10,000 accounts allowed in October 2019. The cloud storage capacity for each account is 1024 GB (1TB). In addition to the large capacity cloud storage account provided by Microsoft, all teachers of the school also own an unlimited capacity cloud storage account from Google. With that premise, all teachers and students of the whole school are experiencing a rich, professional ecosystem for school administration and teaching and learning activities.

According to Mr. Trong, with such favorable conditions when applying Microsoft Office 365 solution to modernize school management, it has helped the school build OneDrive cloud storage space; digitize all school data on OneNote; digitize classroom space, online school via Microsoft Teams application; build internal information page using SharePoint; assign and control work using Planner and To Do applications... Along with existing Office 365 applications, combined with social networks such as Facebook, Zalo and VnEdu school management application, all school activities have been comprehensively managed and maintained on a modern technology platform.

Bridging the gap for development

With this solution, school students are guided, organized to study, and collaborate on a modern technology platform. The school's accounting system has been digitized since its establishment through the Onenote application. Thanks to that, no matter where they are, as long as they have a phone with internet connection, all members can easily access their personal and school data from previous years. Types of school books such as lecture notes, homeroom books, equipment management books, etc., which previously had to be set up and stored manually, making it difficult to extract and refer to, have now been digitized so that teachers can operate in any space. With the diversity of school spaces, the organization of school activities has been more proactive. Therefore, despite the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the school's meetings and teaching activities are still maintained smoothly. More specifically, in the geographical conditions far from the mainland, this solution has made it easier for teachers and students of the school to access, communicate and study with friends and colleagues on the mainland and abroad without encountering as many obstacles as before. "The solution "Application of Microsoft Office 365 in school management" is not only practically applied to modernize activities at Ngo Quyen High School but is also shared by the school and supported in digitizing records at other schools in Binh Thuan province (Bui Thi Xuan High School, Huynh Thuc Khang, Luong The Vinh, Provincial Political School...) and some schools in other provinces (Mai Son High School (Son La), Dong La Secondary School (Hanoi)", Mr. Trong added.

It can be seen that, thanks to proactive application of information technology in education management and teaching, despite being a school on a remote island, Ngo Quyen High School has shortened the geographical distance to access advanced and modern learning conditions to develop closer to other schools on the mainland.
