On December 26th, in Ninh Binh, Central Committee member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan attended the ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company (DOVECO) (December 26, 1955 - December 26, 2025).

This event is significant as it marks the 70th anniversary of the formation, construction, and development of a leading agricultural enterprise that has made comprehensive contributions to the development of agriculture, rural areas, and the national economy over many periods.

Looking back at the 70-year journey of Dong Giao Company, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan said that it was not just a story of "moving fast," but a journey of steady progress. DOVECO not only exports products but is gradually exporting its reputation and brand; not only brings fruit to the world , but also carries the story of the land, the spirit of labor, and the perseverance.

Expressing gratitude to the farmers who have silently and persistently contributed to every product of Dong Giao, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan hoped that, in the coming journey, Dong Giao would continue to consider farmers not only as suppliers, but also as partners, companions, and key players in development.

Emphasizing that agriculture today is not just about "what to grow - how much to sell" but about multi-value agriculture, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hung expressed his hope that in the future, DOVECO will not only be a processing or exporting enterprise but also a leading enterprise in the ecosystem; connecting farmers, scientists and the market, sharing risks and benefits, and together learning how to practice agriculture in a more ethical, intelligent, and sustainable way.

According to Dinh Cao Khue, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company, the company's predecessor was the Dong Giao State Farm – the first state-owned farm in the socialist North. During the difficult period of the centrally-controlled economy, Dong Giao Farm maintained stable production, cared for the lives of its workers, and was one of the few state-owned units operating effectively. In particular, its "dual" model of both production and local government management created a unique characteristic only found in Dong Giao. This was a typical self-sufficient, integrated socio-economic model, laying an important foundation for the later formation and development of Tam Diep city.

Entering a period of innovation and integration, the company proactively transformed itself, gradually forming the DOVECO high-tech agricultural ecosystem, developing a closed value chain from raw material sourcing to processing and export. Currently, the company has developed over 30,000 hectares of raw material areas spanning the three regions of North, Central, and South Vietnam, with key crops such as pineapple, passion fruit, mango, sweet corn, banana, spinach, etc., cultivated according to international standards and applying modern scientific and technical methods. The production-guarantee-technology transfer model is closely implemented with over 20,000 farming households, contributing to changing farming mindsets, improving production capacity, and creating sustainable livelihoods, especially in disadvantaged areas and ethnic minority regions. The average value of agricultural production reaches approximately 600 million VND/ha, with a target of 800 million VND/ha by 2030, many times higher than traditional crops. This contributes to increasing income, stabilizing people's lives, and promoting sustainable rural development.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien delivered a speech at the commemoration ceremony.

Alongside agricultural development, DOVECO identifies the processing industry as a pillar of value creation. Currently, the company operates three large processing centers in Ninh Binh, Son La, and Gia Lai, with a total capacity of 136,000 tons of products per year, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers, of which more than 30% are ethnic minorities in the Northwest and Central Highlands regions. From 2020 to 2025, DOVECO's total revenue is expected to exceed VND 12,000 billion, with export turnover of USD 436 million. In 2025 alone, revenue is projected to exceed VND 12,000 billion. The company's products are present in more than 50 countries and territories, conquering many demanding markets and increasingly asserting its position in the domestic market.

Entering a new era, Mr. Dinh Cao Khue affirmed that DOVECO will continue to uphold its commitment to "making the land bloom" - using green, clean, and efficient agriculture as its foundation; using digital transformation as the driving force in production and management; and constantly improving its competitiveness and brand value. This is not only a direction for the future, but also DOVECO's commitment today to its 70-year tradition, forged by hard work, unwavering faith, and deep love for the land and its people.

Acknowledging and appreciating the significant contributions of Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company to the development of Vietnam's agricultural sector, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien requested the company to continue developing raw material areas in a sustainable direction; build substantive and long-term links with farmers and cooperatives, ensuring transparency and harmonizing interests, contributing to improving the income and living standards of producers. The company should promote deep processing, considering this a key step to increase the added value of Vietnamese agricultural products; focus on environmental factors, develop green production and circular economy; and continue to affirm the central role of workers and farmers in the value chain…
