This fried rice dish generated sales of over 15 billion yen (96.3 million USD) in 2023, becoming the best-selling frozen fried rice brand in the world.

This is also the second time since 2021 that the brand has achieved this record.

Japanese frozen food company Nichirei Foods has maintained its leading position in sales of frozen fried rice in the increasingly competitive market for 23 consecutive years since its launch in 2001.

Each pouch contains 450 grams. This is Japan's first frozen fried rice product that incorporates a "frying" process.

The rice is produced using a three-stage frying method at high temperatures. This is the same process used by professional chefs, so the rice doesn't stick together and has the distinctive flavor of homemade roasted pork.

The company established a new factory in Fukuoka Prefecture in April 2023, aiming to increase production capacity alongside its existing Funabashi factory in Chiba Prefecture.

In 2023, egg production in Japan was temporarily adjusted due to a shortage of egg supply, but recovered in the latter half of the year.

Thanks to its ever-increasing sales, the product has once again been entered into the Guinness World Records as the best-selling frozen fried rice product.
