Ansu Fati is looking to restart his career at AS Monaco, but difficulties and inherent problems seem to still haunt the 22-year-old.

Ansu Fati joins Monaco on loan from Barcelona with a €30m option to buy.

Last month, Fati left Barcelona to join Monaco, but after more than four weeks of training and integration with the French club, he has yet to play in any friendly matches for his new team. According to Sport , this situation could continue in the near future.

Monaco head coach Adi Hutter revealed Fati had to undergo a special rehabilitation programme, as the club assessed his current physical and health condition as not being good enough to compete at the highest level.

"Everything with Fati is quite complicated. I think in 10 to 15 days, he will participate in training more. Currently, the team is still evaluating Fati's treatment process. Everything needs a process," coach Hutter revealed.

A few seasons ago, Fati was considered the future of Barca, even valued at up to 80 million euros in 2021. However, injuries have slowed his career. Moving to Monaco, Fati's physical condition still seems to have not improved, making him unable to play.

Fati is Monaco's third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Eric Dier and Paul Pogba, both of whom arrived on free transfers. The 2025/26 season is set to be crucial for Fati. Monaco have an option to buy him next summer, but if the Spaniard continues to struggle with injuries, he will almost certainly be sent back to Barcelona.
