Ansu Fati joined Monaco on loan from Barcelona with an option to buy for €30 million. |
Last month, Fati left Barcelona to join Monaco, but after more than four weeks of training and integrating with the French club, he has yet to play in any of his new team's friendly matches. According to Sport , this situation may continue in the near future.
Monaco's head coach, Adi Hutter, revealed that Fati had to participate in a special rehabilitation program, as the club assessed that his current physical condition and health were not sufficient for top-level competition.
"Things are quite complicated with Fati. I think in 10 to 15 days he will be participating in more training. Currently, the team is still assessing Fati's treatment process. Everything takes time," coach Hutter revealed.
A few seasons ago, Fati was considered the future of Barca, even valued at up to 80 million euros in 2021. However, injuries have stalled his career. Since moving to Monaco, Fati's fitness doesn't seem to have improved, preventing him from playing.
Fati is Monaco's third signing this summer, following the acquisitions of Eric Dier and Paul Pogba, both on free transfers. The 2025/26 season is considered crucial for Fati. Monaco have an option to buy him permanently next summer, but if the Spanish striker continues to suffer injuries, he will almost certainly be sent back to Barcelona.
