The son of coach Shin Tae-yong accuses the Indonesian Football Federation of mistreating his father.

Coach Shin Tae-yong was sacked by the Indonesian Football Federation on the afternoon of January 6th after 5 years leading the national team. Shin Tae-yong's son, Shin Jae-won, expressed his disappointment on his personal Instagram account. The player, who plays for Seongnam FC, also left comments on various posts on the social media platform.

Shin Jae-won was furious when coach Shin Tae-yong was sacked by the Indonesian Football Federation.

One of them was a comment on the official Instagram account of the Indonesian national team. He emphasized that his father had suffered a lot of mistreatment during his time working with the Indonesian national team.

" Let's see how you'll progress without him (Shin Tae-yong)," Shin Jae-won wrote. "He dedicated everything to bringing Indonesia to where it is today. I have so much to say about how PSSI treated my father over the past five years. But I will remain silent ," Shin Jae-won wrote below PSSI's post about parting ways with coach Shin Tae-yong.

Another comment was made during a live stream on PSSI's (Indonesian Football Association) Instagram account on Monday (January 6, 2025), when the organization held a press conference regarding the dismissal of Shin Tae-yong.

Shin Jae-won assured PSSI that they would regret this decision in the future: "He (Shin Tae-Yong) brought Indonesia to where it is today. And this is how you treat him. Well done, PSSI. You will all regret this decision."

Two comments by Shin Jae-won have attracted the attention of Indonesian fans.

In his personal Instagram story, Shin Jae-won also questioned the reason why PSSI dismissed his father from the position of head coach of the Indonesian national team, especially since the South Korean coach had brought many new achievements to the team.

" He helped the national team climb 50 places in the FIFA rankings in 5 years and finish 3rd in the World Cup qualifiers, but he was fired...? " Shin Jae-won wrote. "My father worked this hard. He tried his best for Indonesia. Everyone in my family knows that," Shin Jae-won affirmed.

Shin Jae-won is one of two sons of coach Shin Tae-yong. The other is Shin Jae-hyeok. Shin Jae-won also followed in his father's footsteps in football. He currently plays as a midfielder for Seongnam FC in K-League 2.

Following the dismissal of coach Shin Tae-yong, world -renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Dutch star Patrick Kluivert has agreed to become the head coach of the Indonesian national team. On January 12th, Patrick Kluivert will sign a two-year contract (with an option to extend for another two years).
