In the Youth Union of the Engineering Corps, there are very young people who, as soon as they left the leader's chair, immediately wrote a volunteer application to join the Vietnam peacekeeping force.
Overcoming a distance of more than 11.000km, young people with a passionate spirit have left a bold mark on the difficult land of Abyei.
Taking advantage of holidays and breaks, Vietnamese union members and youth divided into groups to repair, make tables and chairs for schools, support local people in planting agricultural crops or supplying water to residential areas, at the hospital, church...
Especially during the Youth Month, the union branch coordinated with the detachments to organize road repairs in the center of the Abyei area to ensure people's travel activities, especially in the upcoming rainy season.
Amid the heat of more than 40 degrees Celsius, along with unexpected sandstorms, but with a spirit of determination and union members, Vietnamese youth participated in repairing the road. Thanks to that, less than 3 days later, the route was completed and put into use.
Mr. Deng Aguer - president of the Abyei Youth Association shared his joy because the road has been completed with the help of Vietnamese friends.
"I would like to express my deep and sincere thanks to all Vietnamese friends, wish you always complete your assigned tasks well and continue to support this Abyei area more" - he said.
