In the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Dak Nong takes the development of bauxite mining - alumina processing - aluminum smelting industry as one of three economic development breakthroughs.

Exploiting bauxite ore to provide raw materials for Nhan Co Alumina Factory, Dak Nong

Mr. Nguyen Ba Ut, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that, following the planning, Dak Nong will focus on investing in developing the alumina production industry on the basis of effectively exploiting bauxite resources, moving towards completing the bauxite - alumina - aluminum value chain.

The province will invest in increasing the capacity of Nhan Co Alumina Plant in the coming period. At the same time, the province will complete infrastructure, resolve related procedures, and put the aluminum production project of Tran Hong Quan Company into operation, so that aluminum products and post-aluminum products can be produced soon.

Currently, the province is focusing on completing documents, procedures and putting new bauxite - alumina - aluminum project complexes and other related projects into operation. The province is increasing investment attraction, building and developing supporting industries for the aluminum and post-aluminum product manufacturing industry.

These steps will gradually turn Dak Nong into a national aluminum industrial center, the largest non-ferrous metallurgy center in the country.

30% of Dak Nong province's natural area is in the mineral planning.

In the period of 2021-2030, Dak Nong strives to complete the installation and put into production of Dak Nong Aluminum Electrolysis Plant, with a capacity of 0.3 million tons of aluminum metal/year. In which, the plant uses alumina from factories in the region.

By 2030, the factory will expand its capacity to 450,000 tons of aluminum ingots per year. The province is calling for investment in 1-2 new aluminum metal production projects. The specific locations will be decided by investors. The total expected capacity will be from 1.2 - 1.5 million tons of aluminum ingots per year.

The Resolution of the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term identifies the development of the alumina and aluminum smelting industry as one of the three pillars of the local economy. Dak Nong strives to become the largest metallurgical center in the country by 2030.

Currently, Dak Nong is calling for and creating favorable conditions for large investors to survey, research, and propose investment in bauxite - alumina - aluminum projects and deep processing of aluminum products.

For example, Duc Giang Chemical Group Joint Stock Company, Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Company, Viet Phuong Investment Group Joint Stock Company, TH Group Joint Stock Company... In addition, there is also the mineral exploitation and processing project of Wolfram Dak Nong Joint Stock Company.

Dak Nong strives to become the National Aluminum Industrial Center by 2030

The planning for exploration, exploitation, processing and use of minerals in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, shows that Dak Nong has very large reserves of bauxite and wolfram ore. In addition to licensed projects, Dak Nong also has 18 newly licensed mineral mining areas to attract investment projects.

According to Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Ba Ut, the approved provincial planning helps Dak Nong to be more favorable in calling for and attracting large investors to implement mining projects as well as other supporting industries.

Dak Nong will focus on selecting investors to implement mineral projects with sufficient capacity to synchronously carry out the stages of exploration, exploitation, production, processing, and product consumption in a sustainable and highly effective manner...

Dak Nong has 232 mineral mines, with an area of ​​over 2,876 hectares approved in the provincial planning. The total reserve of mineral resources is forecasted to be over 239 million ^m3 , of which the reserve to be exploited by 2030 is over 116 million ^m3 .
