Lao Department of Culture and Fine Arts

The Department of Culture and Arts has three main professional artist units under the Department of Culture and Arts, including: the Lao National Art Troupe, the Lao National Circus and the Lao National Theatre.

The Department of Culture and Arts was established in 1975, at that time it was called the Department of Performing Arts. The Department of Performing Arts from 2008 and after 2020 until now is hereinafter referred to as the Department of Culture and Arts.

In particular, the Lao National Arts Group is responsible for researching, composing and performing traditional songs and music to serve this important event as well as actively participating in International Cultural Exchange activities held regionally and internationally.

Recently, the Department of Culture and Arts has been honored and awarded many titles of Lao National Artist and Best Artist, in addition, the Lao National Art Troupe also served and participated in related events on the occasion of the important anniversaries of strategic partner countries and neighboring countries such as: ASEAN and other countries.
