Regarding the issue of An Phuoc Thang SG Trading Company Limited supplying unsafe and unhygienic food to some schools in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hiep Phuoc Commune, provided information to the press at a press conference on the socio -economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City, organized by the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports on the afternoon of January 29, 2026.
Ms. Hanh stated that on the afternoon of January 28, 2026, the People's Committee of the commune, along with relevant functional departments, coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department to conduct a surprise inspection of compliance with food safety laws at An Phuoc Thang SG Trading Co., Ltd., located at 274/87 Nguyen Van Tao Street, Hiep Phuoc Commune, Ho Chi Minh City.
Since the implementation of the two-tiered local government system, from July 1, 2025 to the present, the People's Committee of Hiep Phuoc commune has conducted three inspections of this establishment as part of the general plan on food safety and hygiene.
The first inspection took place on October 17, 2025, when the People's Committee of the commune, in coordination with the food safety compliance inspection team of the City's Food Safety Department, inspected An Phuoc Thang SG Trading Co., Ltd. The inspection team found no violations.
The second inspection took place on January 9, 2026. The People's Committee of the commune directed the commune police and the Economic Department to coordinate with the Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police to inspect the compliance with environmental and food safety laws by An Phuoc Thang SG Trading Co., Ltd. The inspection team collected food and wastewater samples from the company for analysis and testing as required. The results of the inspection are currently pending.
The third inspection took place on January 28, 2026, immediately after receiving information regarding the company supplying unsafe food to schools. At the time of the inspection, the company representative provided documents such as a business registration certificate and a food safety certificate issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Management Board on September 5, 2023, which is valid for 3 years from the date of signing.
Ms. Hanh stated that, after reviewing the results of receiving and resolving complaints and feedback, since July 1, 2025 (after the administrative unit merger), the People's Committee of Hiep Phuoc commune has received one complaint related to An Phuoc Thang SG Trading Company Limited. Following this, the People's Committee of the commune directed relevant departments to coordinate with competent authorities to conduct an inspection on January 9, 2026, as mentioned above.
During this inspection, the People's Committee of the commune directed the commune's police and the Economic Department to coordinate with the Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City to inspect the compliance with environmental and food safety laws by An Phuoc Thang SG Trading Co., Ltd. Currently, we are awaiting the conclusions of the relevant authorities.
Ms. Hanh stated that during last year's inspection, the authorities did not detect any violations. Regarding the second and third inspections, the People's Committee of Hiep Phuoc commune will provide information to the press once the final results from the relevant authorities are available.
