Establishing a strong reputation in the dredging market.

On a cold day in early 2016, at the Lach Huyen construction site, a group of 5-6 engineers from My Dung Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. sat on excavator number 11 to carry out dredging work at the base of breakwater number 10, belonging to TOA Corporation of Japan.

Among that group of engineers, 3 out of 6 were members of the company's Board of Directors. They dreamed of a future where Vietnam, and My Dung Company in particular, would have large-scale dredging equipment to construct major shipping channels.

At the end of 2016, two major corporations, TOYO and Penta Ocean, arrived and began dredging the Lach Huyen maritime channel with a volume of up to 30 million cubic meters. My Dung was fortunate to be selected as a subcontractor for this project by the two corporations.

Realizing that My Dung's current construction equipment could not meet the requirements of the two large corporations, the company's board of directors decided to invest in purchasing equipment to be able to carry out the project.

From here, the largest dredger in Vietnam, with a carrying capacity of up to 6,000 m3 and a crew of more than 32, was built, meeting the stringent construction requirements. By 2018, My Dung had completed the final dredging items to hand over the Lach Huyen project.

With that project, My Dung's engineering team improved their skills after working on the project and receiving training from Japanese engineers. Building on this momentum, the company began adding personnel and investing in more construction equipment, aiming for further growth.

To date, My Dung has acquired a fleet of up to 50 construction vessels. Thanks to its modern construction equipment and a large team of engineers, the company has completed numerous dredging projects, including: the Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant project, with Toa Corporation as the main contractor; and the project to invest in and upgrade the maritime channel leading to the ports in the South Nghi Son area, with the Maritime Project Management Board as the investor.

In addition, there are the dredging projects for Tan Cang - Cai Mep International Container Port and Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port, invested by Tan Cang Saigon Corporation; the project to invest in and construct a channel for large-tonnage ships entering the Hau River, invested by the Maritime Project Management Board; and the Soai Rap Channel Maintenance Project in 2018, invested by the Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Works...

In the context of developing the maritime economy , the number of maritime channel projects is increasing, and the demands of investors are becoming higher. To meet this demand, the Board of Directors of My Dung is determined to build a team of highly qualified engineers with excellent English skills to compete in the regional and international markets.

The company also focuses on modernizing its fleet and identifies this as a key strategic objective in its 5-10 year plan.
