Notably, in May, all 11 major groups of goods and services recorded price increases, reflecting pressure from input costs and the spillover effects of fuel prices on the market. Among them, the clothing, hats, and footwear group saw the strongest increase at 1.3%, driven by increased demand for summer clothing coupled with rising raw material and import prices.
The housing, electricity, water, fuel, and building materials group increased by 0.91%, mainly due to rising prices of home repair and maintenance materials and household electricity. The household equipment and appliances group increased by 0.7% as demand for cooling appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines increased during the prolonged hot weather.

In addition, the culture, entertainment, and tourism group increased by 0.64%; the other goods and services group increased by 0.6%; and the information and communication group increased by 0.28%. The food and beverage group increased by 0.17%, with out-of-home dining services showing a significant increase due to rising transportation and input costs.
The transportation group rose 0.13%, mainly due to a rebound in fuel prices this month. The education , medicine and healthcare services, and beverages and tobacco groups also recorded slight increases.
According to expert assessments, the fact that all 11 commodity groups have increased indicates that inflationary pressure is present.
