Kai Havertz has been plagued by injuries. |
According to The Athletic , the German international has a muscle problem, but it's unclear whether the injury occurred in training or in the 3-0 victory against Sunderland last weekend. However, Havertz is almost certain to miss this crucial period for Arsenal.
Previously, Havertz underwent a lengthy period of treatment. He ended the 2024/25 season recovering from a hamstring injury, missing the final three months of the season. Before he could regain his form, the former Chelsea star suffered another knee problem just a week after the new season began, sidelining him for another four and a half months. Havertz is not expected to return until mid-January 2026.
Manager Mikel Arteta had previously emphasized that the German player needed to be used cautiously after such a long break. However, bad luck continues to plague the 26-year-old just as Arsenal are entering a packed schedule. Havertz is expected to miss at least the next 4-5 matches.
To date, Havertz has only played 7 matches in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists, most notably the decisive goal against his former club Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final on February 4th.
With a packed schedule ahead, Havertz is racing against time to regain his fitness for Arsenal's final stretch, while also hoping to feature in the 2026 World Cup with the German national team.
