Weightlifting in Ca Mau wins 6 national medals.

From October 3-9, the 2025 National Club Weightlifting Championship will take place at the Ho Nui Coc Tourist Area (Thai Nguyen province).

• A promising face in Vietnam's young weightlifting scene.
• Weightlifters from Ca Mau break national record in men's 88 kg category.

The tournament, organized by the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province, brought together 227 athletes from 24 provinces, cities and units nationwide.

The Ca Mau delegation participated in the competition with 7 athletes, who were well-prepared both physically and technically. During the exciting, dramatic, and high-quality competition, the Ca Mau athletes overcame many strong opponents, achieving impressive results with 1 Silver Medal and 5 Bronze Medals.

Notably, athlete Thach Hoang Sang excelled, winning one silver medal in the snatch, one bronze medal in the clean and jerk, and one bronze medal in the total lift. Athlete Nguyen Bich Tram also achieved encouraging results with one bronze medal in the snatch, one bronze medal in the clean and jerk, and one bronze medal in the total lift.

Mr. Tran Quoc Bao, Head of the Ca Mau Athletes' Delegation, said: “This is an important tournament of the year for the national weightlifting club system, held regularly to assess the quality of training for high-performance athletes at the grassroots level, and to discover and nurture talents for the national teams. The Organizing Committee assessed Ca Mau as one of the localities with a fairly strong movement and training of grassroots weightlifters.”
