During the meeting, many voters expressed concerns about the Van Thinh Phat case; the fight against corruption and negative practices; the supervisory activities of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Regulation 1629 on purchasing information for the prevention and fight against corruption and negative practices; and the reorganization of neighborhoods and hamlets…

Voter Dang Van Ranh proposed that Ho Chi Minh City consider the need to incentivize anti-corruption forces, including those who provide crucial information, with substantial reward schemes. These rewards would be funded from money recovered in corruption cases.

In addition, according to voters, the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption needs to tighten regulations and sanctions even further; and at the same time strengthen inspection and supervision to prevent cases with signs of corruption early and from afar...

Speaking at the meeting, delegate Nguyen Ho Hai acknowledged and accepted the contributions and suggestions from voters and affirmed that he would fully convey these opinions to the relevant authorities.

Sharing his views on the Van Thinh Phat case, delegate Nguyen Ho Hai affirmed that the discovery, investigation, and handling demonstrate the strictness and decisiveness of the fight against corruption, with no forbidden zones and no exceptions, regardless of who is involved or which agency they work for.

In addition, the Central Inspection Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee are also carrying out the process of handling officials involved in the case. Simultaneously, the results of the disciplinary actions will be publicly announced through the mass media.

" If officials at all levels in the city commit any wrongdoing, the relevant authorities will thoroughly address it and will inform the voters; if the information is incomplete, voters can discuss it directly with me and will receive a response ," Representative Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai shared that Van Thinh Phat is one of the typical cases in the financial sector. From this case, all levels need to have a clearer understanding and carefully review to have appropriate and strict regulations that are sufficient to prevent similar violations from occurring in the future.

Regarding Regulation 1629 on purchasing information on preventing and combating corruption and negative practices, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai said that after the media published the information, the public showed great interest and support for Ho Chi Minh City's enhanced solutions in preventing and combating corruption and negative practices.

Previously, the city had Regulation 1374, which yielded very positive results after its implementation; this regulation relied on citizens providing information for the city's management and administration...

After five years of implementation, combining regulations from the central and provincial levels, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee issued Regulation 1629. This is a more comprehensive solution to strengthen and promote the important role of citizens in the fight against corruption and negative practices; and to protect officials who dare to think and act. According to Mr. Hai, because the regulation has only recently been issued, more time is needed to assess its effectiveness.

Regarding the management of public assets, delegate Nguyen Ho Hai shared that Ho Chi Minh City is unique in that it has many public assets managed by the city and many central government agencies, making the handling of these assets relatively complex.

The city is very concerned and has many solutions to manage and effectively utilize public assets in the area, while also regularly inspecting and monitoring this work. However, there are still some areas and facilities in the city that are not being used for their intended purpose and are not being utilized effectively. These are some isolated cases, and the city will inspect and rectify them to ensure efficiency.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai expressed his confidence that with the efforts of all levels, alongside the vigorous implementation of Resolution 98/2023/QH15 on piloting some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City, the handling and use of public buildings and land related to offices and facilities will be effectively rectified in the coming time.

At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai hoped that Party committees, Party organizations, and Party members would more strictly implement the regulations on neighborhood and hamlet reorganization; in particular, they should listen to the opinions of the people so that the implementation is appropriate to the practical situation in their localities.
