On the morning of October 21, at the General Department of Taxation, the Ministry of Finance held a conference to announce Decision No. 2482/QD-BTC dated October 17, 2024 of the Minister of Finance on the temporary appointment of Mr. Vu Manh Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Tax Department, to the position of Deputy General Director of the General Department of Taxation.
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister Cao Anh Tuan congratulated the General Department of Taxation on completing the leadership, and congratulated Mr. Vu Manh Cuong - Director of the Hanoi Tax Department, who was trusted by the Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Finance to be appointed to the position of Deputy Director General of the General Department of Taxation.
Deputy Minister Cao Anh Tuan said that in Resolution No. 56-NQ/BCSĐ dated September 28, 2024, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance approved the policy of appointing 01 Deputy General Director of the General Department of Taxation from the local human resources planned for the position of Deputy General Director of the General Department of Taxation for the 2021-2026 term, meeting all the conditions and standards of the position according to regulations and implementing the steps of the process and procedures.
Mr. Vu Manh Cuong, born in 1976; Professional qualifications: Master of Business Administration, Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Bachelor of Economics, Hanoi University of Finance and Accounting; Bachelor of English, Hanoi Open University; Political theory: Senior; State management: Senior Expert. Mr. Vu Manh Cuong has worked for nearly 20 years in the Finance sector, has held many positions and leadership positions and before being appointed as Deputy General Director of the General Department of Taxation, Mr. Cuong held the position of Director of the Hanoi Tax Department.
“During his work, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong has always demonstrated his ability to manage, operate, and be responsible for his work; is a well-trained officer with basic training, capacity, and deep expertise, always completing assigned tasks excellently; has experience, the ability to gather the masses, and has good working relationships with units inside and outside the financial sector.” - Deputy Minister Cao Anh Tuan assessed.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister Cao Anh Tuan expressed his belief that in his position as Deputy Director General of the General Department of Taxation, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong will, together with the General Department of Taxation's leadership, lead the General Department of Taxation to successfully carry out assigned tasks, continuing to promote the good achievements of previous generations of leaders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen emphasized that the decision of the leaders of the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Taxation to appoint the Director of the Hanoi Tax Department to the position of Deputy Director General of the General Department of Taxation is a recognition of the new Deputy Director General, but also shows the attention of the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Taxation to the Hanoi Tax sector in general.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen said that in his position as Party Secretary, Director Vu Manh Cuong has always promoted the pioneering and exemplary spirit and upheld the sense of responsibility of a leader, with many drastic, synchronous, innovative and creative solutions to successfully complete the targets and tasks of Party building as well as budget collection in Hanoi, leaving many outstanding marks.
Expressing sincere and deep gratitude to the Government leaders, the Party Committee, and the Ministry of Finance leaders for considering, trusting and placing their trust in the important position of Deputy General Director of the General Department of Taxation, the new Deputy General Director Vu Manh Cuong affirmed: "This is both an honor and a heavy responsibility before the Party, the State and the Ministry of Finance.".
At the same time, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong affirmed that he would accept all the instructions of the Deputy Minister of Finance, and pledged to uphold and continue to promote the tradition of solidarity and unity in the leadership of the General Department of Taxation to lead and direct the drastic, synchronous and effective implementation of tax management and budget collection solutions, successfully and comprehensively implementing the assigned goals and tasks.
Thus, the current leadership of the General Department of Taxation includes: Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh - General Director; 4 Deputy General Directors: Mr. Dang Ngoc Minh; Mr. Vu Chi Hung; Mr. Mai Son and Mr. Vu Manh Cuong.
