Today, May 29th, the National Assembly will dedicate the entire day to supreme oversight of the mobilization, management, and use of resources for COVID-19 prevention and control; and the implementation of policies and laws on primary healthcare and preventive medicine. Prior to this, the oversight delegation submitted a report to the National Assembly on this matter.

The National Assembly's thematic report on supreme oversight was prepared in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic being under control and all aspects of socio-economic life returning to normal .

Thirty cases have been initiated, involving 107 defendants, in connection with the Viet A - 1 case.

The problems that arose during the epidemic prevention and control process are being addressed. Simultaneously, inspection, review, and audit conclusions have been reached regarding the mobilization, management, and use of resources for epidemic prevention and control.

Judicial authorities are investigating and prosecuting violations of the law in the research, acceptance, transfer, licensing, price negotiation, production organization, and sale of COVID-19 testing kits related to the Viet A case.

The report also noted that these were serious violations and that many officials at the central and local levels were prosecuted.

Specifically, the report points out that the Viet A case involved numerous violations in bidding, procurement, borrowing, and lending of testing kits.

According to the State Audit Office's report, in 2020 and 2021, units purchased biological products, chemicals, and test kits at different prices, depending on the type, origin, and manufacturer.

This includes several units that purchased testing kits from Viet A Company worth over 2.161 billion VND (directly or through intermediary distributors).

By early May 2023, according to a report from the Ministry of Public Security, investigative agencies had initiated legal proceedings in 30 cases involving 107 defendants.

Specifically, the Investigation Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security (C03) initiated one case involving 31 defendants; the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Ministry of National Defense initiated one case involving 5 defendants.

Police and investigative agencies in 25 provinces and cities have initiated legal proceedings in 28 cases involving 71 defendants. The cases are also continuing to be investigated and expanded.

The report recommends the urgent and decisive handling of cases related to Viet A Technology Joint Stock Company in accordance with the Politburo's policy on classifying and handling violations by organizations and individuals.
