The 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival is coming to an end, but the cinematic atmosphere is still bustling in many places in this coastal city. Cinema activities are taking place vigorously, attracting the attention and participation of a large audience.
Movie screenings, film crew meetings with audiences, with the press... at cinema complexes such as CGV Vinh Trung, CGV Vincom, Galaxy, Le Do... the audience always came in large numbers, many audiences stayed until the end of the screening to chat, take pictures... with their favorite stars.

This year, the Film Festival marked a series of blockbuster films by Asian authors and filmmakers, including films that have won awards or been highly appreciated at a number of international film festivals.
Among the Asian films in competition, we can mention “Abel” by Kazakhstan director Elzat Eskendir, his debut feature film, which won 3 awards at the 2025 Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema including Best Film (Critics' Award), the Grand Prize of the International Jury and the NETPAC Award.
The film “Stranger Eye”, a co-production between Singapore and Taiwan (China) cinema, was directed by Yeo Siew Hua, who has won many international awards such as the Locarno Film Festival, the Golden Horse Award and the Singapore Award for Young Artists.
The film “The Dream of Waking Up”, a collaboration between Brazil, Argentina and Taiwan (China), directed by Nele Wohlatz, also won the FIPRESCI Award for Best Film in the Encounter category at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival.

In addition, "Rain on the Butterfly Wings" by Vietnamese director Duong Dieu Linh, "Black Dog" by Chinese director Quan Ho, and "Sacred Fire" by Indian director Abhilash Sharma are all films that have won awards at major international film festivals.
The fact that many films have won international awards, or whose authors have won many international awards, is a testament to the growing reputation of the Danang Asian Film Festival in the region.
This also contributed to attracting the attention of Asian filmmakers, as this year's festival attracted a large number of films choosing DANAFF as their first international or global premiere.

This year, in the Asian In-competition Films and Panorama of Asian Cinema categories - the newly launched program of this year's Film Festival, up to 11 international films chose DANAFF as the place for " World premiere" and International Premiere.
Some directors have also been nominated for international awards, such as Yu Sakudo of the film “How to forget you” which was nominated in the Venice Immersive category of the 74th Venice International Film Festival, or director Lee Sang Hoon of the film “Unspoken Words” which won the Best Director award at the Hallyu, Korean Cultural Awards in 2018...
Attracting many premieres is one of the criteria that make up the brand of a film festival. This is considered a good sign for DANAFF, because filmmakers in the region have known about the Film Festival and trusted DANAFF III with their brainchild.

This year, the festival also screened a record number of films: more than 100 films for the Asian Film Competition, Vietnamese Film Competition, Panorama of Asian Cinema and Korean Cinema Spotlight programs. This is the largest number of films screened in the last three film festivals.
This year’s Da Nang Asian Film Festival also marked the presence of many famous international guests of Asian cinema. No other international film festival in Vietnam has simultaneously had the presence of three directors of two of the largest film festivals in Asia, Tokyo and Busan.
This year, Tokyo International Film Festival Director Shozo Ichiyama, along with his two colleagues, former Busan International Film Festival founder and director Kim Dongho, and current Busan director Park Kwang-su, are all present in different roles. Shozo Ichiyama is a member of the Asian Film Competition Jury, while Kim Dongho and Park Kwang-su are panelists at industry roundtables.

Along with veteran filmmakers in Asia, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival also welcomes a series of leading Asian actors and stars, such as Korean actors Moon So Ri, Park Sungwoong, Philippine TV star Richar.R Faulkerso Jr., Indian actor Shantanu Maheshwari, Korean idol Idol Nation...
It is not without reason that many filmmakers and artists have commented that the Da Nang Asian Film Festival, although still very young, only 3 years old, has made great strides and is currently attracting the attention of audiences and experts in the region. As director and Head of the Jury of the Asian Film Competition Jang Joon-hwan commented: “This year, many international films have chosen DANAFF as the place to premiere. This means that DANAFF is developing very quickly and attracting the attention of Asian filmmakers.”
DANAFF 3, although only 3 years old, with its development in both scale and quality, not only contributes to increasing the attractiveness of Da Nang city - an ideal filming location, but is also becoming a new cinema destination in Asia.
