The increase in both domestic and international tourists has led to a growing demand for transportation by road, rail, and air. Passenger transport services such as intercity routes, contract vehicles, airport buses, and ride-hailing services are experiencing increased activity, especially during large-scale cultural and tourism events like the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2025.
The booming tourism industry is a crucial driving force for the passenger transport sector in Da Nang .
In July 2025, revenue from road and waterway passenger transport in Da Nang reached nearly 460 billion VND, an increase of 2% compared to the previous month and nearly 33% compared to the same period in 2024. For the first seven months of 2025, revenue from these two modes of transport reached over 2,800 billion VND, an increase of nearly 24% compared to the same period last year.
Passenger transport volume by road and waterway in July was estimated at 5.6 million, an increase of 0.8% compared to the previous month and a 22% increase compared to the same period last year. Passenger traffic volume was estimated at 209.5 million passenger-kilometers, an increase of 1.2% compared to the previous month and an 18.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Overall, in the first seven months of 2025, the total volume of passenger transport reached 35.1 million, an increase of 20% compared to the same period last year; of which, road transport increased by 21% and inland waterway transport increased by 13%. The volume of passenger traffic reached 1,377.3 million passenger-kilometers, an increase of 14.7%, with increases of nearly 15% for road transport and 4.7% for inland waterway transport.
According to the Da Nang Statistics Department, in the first seven months of 2025, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments in the area is estimated to reach nearly 11 million, an increase of nearly 19% compared to the same period in 2024. Of these, international guests are estimated at 4.3 million, an increase of nearly 22%; and domestic guests at 6.5 million, an increase of more than 17% compared to the same period in 2024.
The number of tourists on organized tours in July is estimated at 190,000, an increase of nearly 9% compared to the previous month and over 26% compared to the same month last year (of which international tourists are estimated at 46,700, an increase of over 2% compared to the previous month and 7.7% compared to the same month last year). Overall, in the first seven months of 2025, the number of tourists on organized tours to Da Nang is estimated at 964,300, an increase of 28% compared to the same period in 2024.
"The above results reflect the effectiveness of demand-stimulating policies, destination image promotion efforts, and strong investment in infrastructure and tourism products in the city. This is a positive signal contributing to economic growth and affirming Da Nang's position as a leading tourism center in the Central region and the whole country," the Da Nang Statistics Office stated.
