According to the pilot plan of Bach Dang walking street, the walking street space is located on the extended Bach Dang street, from the Dragon bridge area to Tran Thi Ly bridge (1.2km long) connecting to Nguyen Van Troi bridge. Operating hours are from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. every day of the week.
The walking street will have 3 clusters of mobile kiosks with 12 kiosks on the entire sidewalk east of Bach Dang Street. The kiosks will use 20-foot containers (6m long, 2.5m wide) invested and decorated by the business households themselves. At the same time, there will be 5 clusters of mobile sales vehicles with 15 vehicles on the lane east of Bach Dang Street, the vehicle positions will be interspersed with the kiosks.
To organize traffic for the walking street, Da Nang city will use 1 lane on the east side of Bach Dang street on weekdays, the remaining 3 lanes are one-way, with signs of a 40km/h speed limit and hourly vehicle restrictions. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the city will ban vehicles on the entire Bach Dang street, from Binh Minh 10 street to APEC Park.
After being put into operation, Bach Dang walking street will host music and art performances; festivals, events, art activities, street food... At the same time, the space of Bach Dang walking street will also connect with the walking street across Nguyen Van Troi bridge and Tran Hung Dao street, as well as across Dragon bridge to create a tourist highlight.
According to the leaders of Hai Chau district (Da Nang city), Bach Dang walking street located along the Han River is expected to be a new tourism service product, a unique and impressive nighttime entertainment spot. This place is also considered a community space with a modern, bustling and novel sound, meeting the needs of entertainment, recreation and culinary exploration of local people and tourists.
